Neat. Golden color with long legs. Aroma of butterscotch, fruit, agave, vanilla, slightly herbal. Mouthfeel is moderately thick. Smooth, but just enough bite to keep it balanced. Taste is a full, rounded and sweet with agave, caramel, vanilla, sweet oak, slight stewed dark fruit, cinnamon, minerals. Finishes with some oak tannins, saccharine sweetness, black pepper, vanilla. Solid juice. Definitely one of the better TW pushed items. If you like a sweet caramel heavy drink, this might be your jam40.0 USD per Bottle

Plantation 3 Stars White Rum
Silver Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed March 29, 2022 (edited May 7, 2022)Sipping neat. Nose is sweet with sugar cane, tropical fruits, banana, phenols, hints of vanilla and oak. Moderately intense taste is true to nose plus some bitter citrus, floral, and a hint of tobacco. Semisweet finish (for a rum) with some fruit, light molasses and funk Nicely balanced and complex. Sippable, but shines in cocktails by adding some complexity. One of the better white rums that I've tried and at a reasonable price23.0 USD per Bottle -
Neat. Nose is very pleasant with lots of sweet and fruity cooked agave with some mint and grassy herbal notes. Slight brine and mineral aromas as well. Sipping is smooth and taste is true to nose, with lots of sweet, fruity cooked agave. As it opens up, flavors of green olives, mint, black pepper, and citrus add some complexity. Finish is pleasant and sweet with a little tartness and warming pepper for balance. Overall a great, natural tasting blanco. Highly recommended for sipping. Get something cheaper for mixing strongly flavored cocktails such as a margarita. Value is fair. Better than most in the 40-60 price range47.0 USD per Bottle

Neat. Visually clear, very pale straw with long legs. Nose is fruity agave with a nice smoke, oak, minerals, black pepper. slight vanilla and caramel doesn't cover up the bright aromas. Taste starts with cooked agave, citrus peel bitterness, black pepper, some minerality, hints of oak, and vanilla. Finish is moderately long and dry. Slightly sweet, but with plenty of citrus bitterness. Great example of an agave forward, lightly aged reposado

Corazon Reposado (actually Anejo), Single Barrel, Buffalo Trace aged, Crossroads Hy-Vee store pick
Tequila Añejo — Mexico
Reviewed October 23, 2021Total Wine Pick Barrel 018 Neat. Visually a pale straw color, long legs in the glass. Nose is very bourbon like, and expectedly, Buffalo Trace, but softer than the bourbon. Light caramel, rye, citrus, apple, cinnamon, vanilla, oak. Just a hint of agave as it breathes.. A little more fruity, agave sweetness in the taste. Along with red apple, hot cinnamon, herbal rye, oak. Finish is spicy, but tame with that hot cinnamon, a little saccharine sweetness Side by side with the bourbon. The bourbon has more intense oak, caramel, and spice and a little more alcohol bite and the finish is drier with a more oak tannic finish. The agave is more noticeable now being fruitier, richer. Overall, tasty if you're a bourbon and Buffalo Trace Fan. I was surprised at how similar they were. Definitely more bourbon forward than other aged tequilas. A casual taster would think it's just a really smooth and easy bourbon64.0 USD per Bottle -
Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry
Gold Rum — Jamaica
Reviewed October 22, 2021 (edited October 15, 2022)Neat. Nose is delicious and typical of Jamaican pot still, sweet, fruity, and funky. Very ripe banana, pineapple, and other tropical fruits. The esters are notable, but balanced with the sweet notes. Also some oak, molasses, vanilla, and light herbal notes. Flavors are moderate in intensity. Dry with very little sweetness. Dried tropical fruits, pepper, orange peel, banana, esters, allspice, smoke. Finishes with the esters and a little saccharine sweetness Overall, a great option for those that want the Jamaican flavors without the syrupy sweetness. Also a nice gateway to Jamaican rum from drier spirits30.0 USD per Bottle -
Neat. Aroma of cloves, lime, ginger, rum, almond. Think Bay Rum cologne/aftershave, but mild and pleasant. Taste is true to aroma, but simple syrup sweet and very soft and smooth Not so much for drinking neat, but makes a great cocktail modifier in place of simple syrup. Required for many tropical and tiki drinks18.0 USD per Bottle
