Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 9, 2024 (edited August 21, 2024)On the nose it has a very smokey leathery profile with a little bit of heat that hides a subtle sweet note. On the palate the same holds true but it has a buttery mouthfeel. The sweetness comes through as honey and molasses mixes with those smokey leathery notes. It has a great peppery note that carries it to the end but does not overwhelm. A great pour with great complexity. -
Bardstown Bourbon Co. Origin Series Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 9, 2024 (edited June 1, 2024)On the nose it comes across with a lot of heat with an underlying sweetness. Not sure if the heat is the proof, rye, or baking spice. The sweetness is might be from honey, vanilla, or something else. On the palate you get a much different profile. The sweetness is still there but have a more of a berry note with the honey. The heat that is there on the nose really toned down. -
On the nose there are notes of molasses, honey, orange and a little chocolate. The molasses and chocolate note dont really make it to the palate but the orange and honey notes do, with the orange being at the forefront and the honey complimenting. This is all intertwined with a baking spice note that meshes very well.

On the nose there are very subdued notes of sweet honey, oak, and baking spice. On the palate the honey is replaced by equal parts vanilla and molasses, which leads into the baking spice but long after the baking spice note has gone there is woody oak taste at the back end. A very nice sip with a good complexity to it.
