Costco barrel pick. First thing that hits me is how viscous this is, almost syrupy, bits of corn, cherry, leather and baking spices follow. Rye spice makes itself know on the lengthy finish. Better than average bourbon.

Initial pours. Cinnamon, cider and cedar notes, other baking spices, a bit aggressive and spicy. A chunk of ice tones it down and allows some caramel, vanilla to come through. 7/7/24 Three months open. Not much change. A bit of water and ice drives it towards the B522 release.

Burnt brown sugar leads, not nearly as much as the A122 though, followed by caramel, oak, baking spices and hints of nuts. Not terribly hot. Just ok, but i think there is some real goodness lurking underneath that might be revealed with oxidation. 7/7/24 Three months open. Wow! Caramel and Tootsie Roll on the nose and palate. Scrumptious candy in a glass. Hits the right spots for me. Bumped 1/2 point.

Initial pours. Smells and tastes like everything spent too long under flame. Burnt brown sugar, burnt oak, even the baking spices seem crispy. Quite hot. I needed an ice cube. Hopefully this will calm down with some oxidation. 7/7/24 Three months ooen. The burnt notes have dissipated, heat has calmed down. Notes remain the same, but more enjoyable.

Caramel, toffee, butterscotch, baking spices, cider, tobacco, aged oak, subdued sweetness, and hints of cherry. Feels lower than its proof. Complex and really enjoyable.

Sweet, sugary even, subdued heat, with vanilla, cola, toasted oak, brown sugar, caramel and baking spices.

Sugary and savory at the same time. Wheat bread, molasses, caramel, baking spices, feels dark and brooding with a spicy and smoldering body and finish. Difficult to put notes to, but I like it.
