Benriach The Original Ten
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed December 21, 2023 (edited May 20, 2024)Quite nice entry Scotch. Honey, apples, malt, vanilla, oats and baking spices on the nose. It’s balanced, full and creamy on the palate, almost has the feel of an Irish whiskey, with honey, apricots and malt notes. Short finish with mild bitterness, honey, malt-o-meal, hints of tropical fruits and baking spices. Hits a sweet spot for me. Seriously crushable. -

Appleton Estate 12 Year Rare Casks
Aged Rum — Jamaica
Reviewed December 7, 2023 (edited December 28, 2023)Strong hogo, molasses, overripe banana, brown sugar, tropical fruit, toffee, caramel, vanilla and oak notes. Semisweet and somewhat rich. Enjoyable enough neat. I’m about half way through this bottle. It seems like every pour has been somewhat unique with different notes accented. Not sure that i like it enough to buy another bottle.
