It's a pretty respectable whisky. There's definitely rye on the nose, with hints of warm spices and peanut butter - it's an odd combination but it works. The palate has notes of cherry and charred oak with an undertone that is floral. The texture is a little thin and I hold the 40% ABV responsible, although the finish has some legs. It's ok, and I'm going to agree with another reviewer here: it probably pairs very well with Coke.

Borders Single Grain Scotch Whisky
Single Grain — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 19, 2018 (edited March 18, 2019)What the hell is this??? Garam masala (I SWEAR) on the nose - really peculiar and off-putting, and I love Indian food. Palate has spent matches, rubber and exotic spice. Originality: 10/10. Desirability: 0/10 -
Glengarry Single Malt
Single Malt — Highlands , Scotland
Reviewed June 19, 2018 (edited April 7, 2019)I don't know... It's not terrible, but it's not delicious either. Cream soda, vanilla and maybe walnut on the nose. Some fresh tabacco leaves, smoke and ginger on the palate. Short finish. -
The Deveron 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 19, 2018 (edited September 6, 2021)Decent enough dram. There's some orchard on the nose, with cream and whiffs of chardonnay wine. The palate has notes of ginger and pepper with a long and bitter finish.
