Tastes

Bananas and 🍍 on the nose. Continued sweetness on the palate with fruit... reminds me of a sweeter side of Gentleman Jack. It's too sweet and rum like for me. It tastes like 80% rum and 20% whiskey. Great beginner whiskey.

Winner! In a side by side with 1870, 1897, and 1920 (1910 unavailable) OF present day is full of honey. It's smooth. Spicy at first then fades quickly to cinnamon toast with butter on the finish. Update: with the 1910, this one's remains #1...raised the rating to a solid 4 🌟

The runner up in a side by side. I enjoyed the spiciness and the finish was very long...OF 100 proof took it but barely.

It came in 3rd in a side by side. 1897 was milder than 1920 but not as good as the present day 100 proof (1910 unavailable) The finish was way too short.

I liked it the least of the 4 (not including 1910, but OF 100 proof present day). 1870 was the most mildest and has the shortest finish.

After 2 years, I have acquired a taste for peat that rises above plastic Band-Aids. I don't enjoy it fully but I still get plastic on the nose. If I concentrate, I get smoke and grass on the palate. The finish is actually nice but too short.

First taste... not that impressed. I did like the long oily finish. I'll try again another day.

Not a bad daily sipper. The nose is full of cinnamon and hints of butter. The palate is a nice typical bourbon with all the regular spices. The finish is medium long that fades into a maple finish.

A solid Scotch. The color is a golden 🍯. On the nose I get an smokiness and apples. The taste on the palate comes though as a salty carmel and salt water. It's not unpleasant. The finish is mid-ranged in length. On the fence if I would choose to keep in stock... Update! Now that I'm at the end of the bottle, I'm going to miss it... raised from a 3.5 to 4.0 3rd, new bottle, better, refined palate...this is WEAK! NEW RATING 4th bottle because I forgot that I had bought the third. LOL. Same low rank 2.25 🌟
