Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2011
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 12, 2021 (edited September 16, 2022)Not sure why I haven’t pulled the trigger on an Islay Barley until now but glad I finally did. I love Bruichladdich but kept passing this by. It is outstanding. Rich big malty flavors and a touch of sweet. Can’t believe it’s only 8 years old. Don’t make my mistake, pick this up. Looking forward to the 2012. -
Heaven's Door Redbreast Master Blenders' Edition
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed August 6, 2021 (edited August 10, 2021)I am very impressed. For those that don’t love finished bourbon this is for you. It may change your mind. The Irish adds just enough to make a difference but not too much that it overpowers the bourbon. I would love to see more Irish cask finishes. Very nicely done. -
If you are a springbank fan and have ever wondered what a stripped down higher proof might taste like, this is it. Like others have said, so different without the sherry influence but all of the wonderful springbank components are there. Might be a little hard to find at this point but a must try for springbank lovers.

Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed January 22, 2021 (edited September 1, 2021)I had not been too impressed with several of the Walkers that I had in the past but after multiple recommendations, I grabbed this one. It is wonderful. Hints of sweet peat through out compliment the amazing base of the blended single malts. This drinks a lot higher than the price point. Don’t dismiss this one. -
Laphroaig 16 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 12, 2020 (edited December 2, 2021)I felt really lucky to grab a bottle of this and it didn’t disappoint. Everything that you want in a huge peaty scotch. It’s not the 18 but still very enjoyable.
