I thoroughly enjoy peat. I really enjoy Bruichladdich. So this should blow me away right? Not so much. It’s a very well made and enjoyable pour and at $100-$150 USD I am pretty satisfied. Great smoky bbq ash peat and a nice touch of sweetness. It is nice. I am just not feeling the $250 price tag. Maybe I am missing something. For my money I’d grab 2 Kilchomans any day of the week. Glad I got to experience this one but probably won’t be a buyer again.

I am pretty impressed for the age and the price. Very tasty and easy drinking. Slight sense of a young whiskey but very well done and priced right. It a tad sweet which I enjoy. I will definitely grab another and look forward to the cask strength and future releases. This will be amazing in a few years.

Kilchoman USA Small Batch No.1
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed February 11, 2022 (edited September 16, 2022)I haven’t had a bad Kilchoman yet. This one is no exception. Their smoke and peat is wonderful and almost everything they do has a hint of sweetness. This one is a little honeyed and oak. But still the smoke is there. I will slowly buy every Kilchoman I can put my hands on. -
