Tastes

I like this one. It definitely has its own profile. It’s not a sherried Lagavulin or Laphroaig or Ardbeg. It has its own thing going on. If you appreciate Islay, you will enjoy this one. I love the sherried peat so this is right up my alley.

I really enjoy this one. Classic Glenmorangie with a nice punch of spice and mint. Very enjoyable. Not too many left on the shelves now but grab one if you see it.

Definitely sherry there and some peat peeking through. Nothing really complex or mind blowing but a really nice pour when you are in the mood for some sherried peat. I like it.

Really nice, the description is very accurate you can definitely taste the Laphroaig but the kiss of sherry is a great addition. Great nose and a great color. Very enjoyable.

This is really nice. I am a huge fan of sherry and this doesn’t disappoint. If you are a sherry fan as well and a Balvenie fan, you can’t go wrong with this one. A little pricey but an excellent pour.

Man am I enjoying this one. I really don’t want to like Macallan but then I taste this and can’t help really enjoying it. At $65 this is a steal. I know the higher end is getting ridiculous but this is worth picking up if you are a sherry fan.

This is absolutely outstanding. You get that old oaky note from a well aged scotch and the deep rich sherry. An amazing combination. Definitely exceeds my expectations. Grab one of these if they are still out there.

I thoroughly enjoy peat. I really enjoy Bruichladdich. So this should blow me away right? Not so much. It’s a very well made and enjoyable pour and at $100-$150 USD I am pretty satisfied. Great smoky bbq ash peat and a nice touch of sweetness. It is nice. I am just not feeling the $250 price tag. Maybe I am missing something. For my money I’d grab 2 Kilchomans any day of the week. Glad I got to experience this one but probably won’t be a buyer again.

This one is interesting. The nose is a little crazy but in a good way. Better than expected and a decent pour. Grabbed this one on sale and don’t regret it. Nice change of pace.

Very pleasantly surprised with this one. Very nice peat and wonderful sweet vanilla. I would say a nod to the Kilchoman profile more than the Ardbeg profile if that helps. Now I am going to have to track down some other Ledaig products. Really good!
