Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed July 26, 2020 (edited November 22, 2020)Wonderful..... Took a gamble and bought this not knowing anything about the distillery or the nectar in the bottle. Nose- complex, cinnamon sugar, aoples, honey. Salty sea breeze. lemon. Palate- Sherry, malt, stewed fruit Finish- medium. Sherry turns salty and briny, slight bitter from the oak. 46% non chill filtered for $43? Yeah! Best pour for the dollar I've ever found will buy again. A truly stellar expression. Neat pour with drop of water in glencairn Nose: alcohol, sweet barley. Honey, vanilla, leather, orange zest, burnt butter, fresh apple, green grapes, lemon grass, salt water. Palate:, honey, butterscotch, caramel, citrus, apple pie with the crust.... Briney. Finish: oily and medium, with sweetness and a hint of Sherry. Rich malt. Great scotch. Didn't know what to expect..... very sweet and malty. High Abv needs water to mellow out. Overall a great value and a great pour. Will be buying again.53.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: Sherry, malt, butterscotch. Palate: oily and thick. Juicy Raisins and Sherry. Spicy oak and sea spray. Finish: spice and Sherry. Medium. This is my second bottle and is more Sherry forward than I remember..... but it is no doubt my number one favorite 12 year single malt! Non chill filtered and natural color. Not gonna find anything better for $50. It very complex and truly special.53.0 USD per Bottle

Neat tasting citrus, lemon grass, bonfire ash, salt water, brine, earth, chocolate. Oak spice lingers with peat and lemon zest. Very oily. Overall I understand that some think Ardbeg is over rated but for me the 10 year for what it is and what it's price point is makes it my favorite Islay. Possibly even my all time favorite pour.....43.0 USD per Bottle

43% abv. Nose: very sweet and pleasant. Malt, orange zest, cream, cinnamon sugar. Honey comb, vanilla. Granny Smith apples Palate: orange marmalade, honey drizzle and baking spices. Malty raisins. Finish: medium short, slight alcohol burn. Keeps you coming back for more. Overall not overly complex. Nothing offensive. This blended malt is fantastic for the money. A real malty sweet treat for a night cap or after dinner pour. No smoke on this one which is typical for Speyside. Great for anyone starting their scotch journey, or anyone on a budget. I come back to this one a few times a year and its constantly satisfying.30.0 USD per Bottle

Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 4, 2020Nose: sweet sugar covered apples, Sherry, vanilla and cocoa Palate: oily, raisins, milk chocolate, baking spice, red apples, bitter wood spice Finish: medium to short, spicy raisins remains Overall a great sipper, wish it was NCF and higher abv like its brother the QR but still good stands up to the macallan imo but much cheaper. At $40 its a good buy40.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: fruity, oak, old leather and chocolates, spearmint? Palate: cinnamon sugar, vanilla, caramel. Red fruits and charred oak. Finish: short. Peppery minty and oaky Over all a good sipper that can be enjoyed all night. If you're looking for something slightly different than your standard sweet corn profile this fits the bill. It really is a nice pour. It would shine more at a higher proof, @ 90 proof it seems a little thin and watery. I really do like this one and always buy a bottle when I can find it.30.0 USD per Bottle

Nose: herbal tea, vanilla, oak. Alcohol, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate covered cherries, bonfire. Palate: oak, medicinal cherry, corn, wood, dark chocolate. Finish: spicy and medium to long, slightly hot. Overall a great expression from willet, high proof thick Bourbon that needs time to sit and open up. Fairly complex at $40-$50. A clear winner.50.0 USD per Bottle

Wild Turkey Bourbon 101
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 4, 2020 (edited February 29, 2020)Nose: sweet corn, vanilla and oak, brown sugar bomb Palate: Caramel, vanilla, cherry wood, barrel char Finish: long and spicy with lingering wood notes. This is truly a hidden gem that gets put in the bottom shelf category. Its probably the best bourbon in its price range and will hold up with bourbon twice its price, you really can't go wrong with turkey. Over a 100 proof for less than $25 is a win.22.0 USD per Bottle
