Tastes

One of the tastiest I've yet to try, the Lagavulin 16 year has a powerful aroma that is filled with all the dark and strong senses; meaty, dark chocolate and smokey. The notes are filled with fruity seaweed that is deliciously peaty without overwhelming on its smokey taste. This is a gift to the palette.

A wonderfully smooth single malt. The aging has done wonders to this 18 year old. It is deliciously sweet, with honey and almonds notes that are milky and yet richly full of flavor.

A good intro for non-Islay drinkers. The beginning is sweet and smooth, with a peppery spice introducing itself in the middle, and finished with a smoky peat at the end

A wonderful single malt with sweet honey cereal flakes that is smooth through the palette from start to finish. A good choice for a good price

A definitely sweet tasting whisky. There is definitely orange with cinnamon and at last a feel for softer tastes such as a more refreshing mint. The taste is short-lived, but it's above average for its price making it a wonderful everyday whisky

A good spiced nose that leads into a tasteful vanilla and cinnamon. A bit of maple caramel that is definitely quite sweet because of its run barrel finish. A personal favorite of mine.

Light nose with Highland grassy and honeydew notes. Very smooth palette with a bit of spicy that turns very sweet and fruity, with a finishing taste of dark chocolate.
