Tastes

Pick up raisin, vanilla, caramel and rye notes on the nose. Sweetness of butterscotch and vanilla stick out on the front of the palate. Mid-palate features more spice adjacent notes with cinnamon and pepper. An easy finish with oak notes that lasts a medium to long length.

Notes of cherry, vanilla, chocolate and just a touch of cinnamon give the nose a sweet profile. Palate differs immensely from the nose, where the front palate is dominated by pepper and cinnamon. Very subtle notes of vanilla appear breifly. Taste evolves to a more leathery note by mid-palate with an oaky and spicy finish.

Nose is predominantly cinnamon candy, rye spice, caramel and cherry. Front palate has very subtle hints of cherry, caramel and vanilla. Mid-palate is reminiscent of a buttered rye toast. Finish is spicy with leather and pepper notes that lingers for a medium length.

Nose is pleasant with hints of apple, vanilla and maple. Oddly, I also get some notes of root beer/birch beer. Palate is significantly different from nose. I get some very earthy and bitter notes at the front, almost what I would describe as mossy. Leathery notes appear mid-palate. Do get hints of the root beer/birch beer I got on the nose during the finish. Not a huge fan of this neat, so I tried on the rocks and enjoyed it much more. The taste of root beer/birch beer was even more prevalent on ice. Enjoy Maker's 46 a lot and wanted to love this because I typically gravitate to higher proof offerings, but was not a fan after my experience with this bottle. Plan to purchase again to reassess and reevaluate in hopes that my bottle was just a bad batch.

Vanilla, caramel, chocolate and walnut present on nose. Notes of oak and rye also appear. Palate is vanilla, caramel and butterscotch forward. Mid-palate introduces a chocolatey and nutty note. Finish is medium length with pepper and spice coming through. Quality bourbon with classic notes accentuated at a higher proof point. Great value that I regrettably overlooked for too long.

Nose is filled with cherry, vanilla, chocolate, pecan and hints of syrup. Notes from the nose translate to the front palate along with a touch of cinnamon. By mid-palate flavors evolve to a more nutty and peppery note. Finish is relatively short with a slight spicy bitterness.

Get notes of chocolate, cherry, maple syrup and rye bread on the nose. Initial punch of chocolate and cherry on the front palate. Flavor evolves into more leathery, tobacco and pepper notes by mid-palate. Get a lot of heat on the finish that is both numbing and bitter. Very interesting tasting experience that combines some very sweet flavors with bitter elements and heat.

Get sweet notes of cherry, raisin, vanilla and chocolate on the nose, as well as a hint of spice with a cinnamon candy note. Sweet vanilla note is present on the front of the palate. Palate evolves to feature those cherry and cinnamon candy notes and a spicy, peppery finish. Medium length finish that adds a slight drying bitterness.

Caramel, vanilla and apple are the primary scents I pick up on the nose. Very subtle tones of cinnamon as I dig deeper. Initial sip is sweet and has notes of the apple and caramel present from the nose. Palate evolves to a rye spice and oak finish that introduces a good amount of heat that lingers for quite a while. Nice combination of sweet and heat that makes for an enjoyable experience.

Has a sweet nose full of caramel, vanilla, raisin and hints of apple. Subtle spice also present. Initial taste is fairly mellow and not super complex. Lots of vanilla and caramel on the palate that gives way to oak and pepper. Medium finish comprised of a bitter oak and nutty note.
