π obviously a rye. I'll say going in to this, this rye is one of the only ones I enjoy just sipping neat. I might actually prefer cocktails with a rye whiskey, but I don't usually find them as enjoyable to sip on than a good bourbon π At first taste it's lovely, but then the rye takes over and it's still fairly hot for the proof. I'm guessing this stuff is just 4-6 year aged. If you love the rye notes, you won't find a better sipper under $80-$100, but if you like sweet oaky bourbon, this isn't sweet oaky bourbon π The finish is nice. It still exudes Buffalo Trace vibes, but again, slightly hot for the proof. Doesn't need an ice cube, but it lingers a bit.

Weller Full Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 5, 2025 (edited December 12, 2025)π just fantastic for the proof. Maybe vanilla wafers. Sweet caramel π Just silly smooth. Not overwhelmingly wheaty. Absolutely fantastic. I've had CYPB before and I wish I could try the two side by side. 2 of the best whiskeys I've ever had π I'll be realistic. The finish is hot. I'd recommend taking smaller sips to explore the finish. It is still lovely though. One of the very few I'll give 5/5 -
π cherries dropped all over the waffle. Lil bit of syrup π Peanut butter. Comes in real smooth, but it does get hotter if you do too much swishin π Ya. PB&J Slaps at a reasonable price. I was PUMPED the first time I found a bottle, but now it's all over the place. I do like Elijah Craig though

Joseph Magnus Triple Cask Finished Bourbon
Bourbon — (Finished & Bottled in Washington DC), USA
Reviewed September 3, 2025π wearing an intake strip, so this should be fun π (for the record, it was actually really nice. Try it or just a breathe right strip if you haven't) classic caramel and oak plus some fruity notes like pineapple and watermelon π Popcorn. Closer to the tip of the tounge. Maybe that caramel was drizzled on top π Warm, but not hot. Kentucky hug they call it. Very smooth. The digestion and exhale and consistent and flavorful 9/10. This would be one of the best bottles under $60 if it cost less than $60 -
π stroopwaffle π Not spicy, but not super flavorful tbh. If you let it linger on the palate after a sip, there's a little something there and the good news is letting it linger doesn't set your mouth on fire. Smooth π It's nice. Classic vanilla and sugar from a smooth wheated bourbon. Maybe worth a pour at a bar if you found it, but not worth what you'd pay on secondary for a whole bottle Of note: CYPB is the best wheated bourbon I've ever had. You just very rarely see it180.0 USD per Bottle

π IDK if I'm just stuffed up, but not actually getting a ton. You can tell there's a little heat in there. Found some vanilla on the second taste π I put a melted ice cube in to make it more accessible and I'm getting a lot of oak. Take a smaller sip if you're not used to higher proof so you can still swish it around π This is where it really shines. Much more complex than the nose. Takes it from a 3.75 to a 4

TINCUP Fourteener Quandary Peak (Release No. 2)
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed August 1, 2025 (edited September 9, 2025)π this isn't going to sound nice, but it is. Bubblegum toothpaste. Idk, I kinda like it π Standard, well aged, oakey, caramel goodness π So smooth. 14 years in a barrel really got rid of that ethanol Rare to find a 14 year aged bourbon and even more rare to find one that tastes good and not over-oaked. I'll take this over Elijah Craig 18 π
