Booker's Bourbon Batch 2021-01 "Donohoe's Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 29, 2021 (edited May 4, 2021)I think this release showcases some interesting expressions from Jim Beam that aren't always noticable in other releases. This batch has some dark fruit, plum raisin, cherry which I usually associate with BT bottles with a nice hint of the peanutty flavors from 2020-01. If you can find this under 95 and can afford to, I think this is a great pickup.18.0 USD per Pour -
Old Grand-Dad 114 Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 27, 2020 (edited December 3, 2020)This bottle does it's job very well, a great pour to help prepare for a barrel proof. This shares well with friends and will cause some upsets in a blind, I think everyone should own a bottle in their collection.25.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2020-02 "Boston Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 26, 2020 (edited December 10, 2020)This bottle packs a punch, lots of heat. The flavor is very strong as well, lots of depth and maybe the most vanilla I've gotten from a Booker's in a long time, and I'm a fan. If you dislike Booker's then *surprise* you won't like this. I know it's more expensive now, I know it used to be a $60 bottle, but here we are. If you're reading this you're probably looking for an excuse to buy it, so... Buy it.92.0 USD per BottleFry’s -
This bottle is incredible, I have 2 on my shelf and I feel like I'm running low. This is a 50pf that punches way above it's weight, I'm confident this would do very well I a blind against barrel proofs. It's vanilla bean, it's chocolatey, it's spicy, it's one of my favorite all time bottles.55.0 USD per BottleCostco Wholesale

If you can find a store pick of this bottle- buy it. I really enjoy this bottle, and it is so different than anything else I have on the shelf. A good amount of honey and citrus and a light salty finish. The bottle is beautiful, the liquid is beautiful, what's not to like here- buy it45.0 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More

Fighting Cock 6 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 26, 2020 (edited November 3, 2022)If you're reading this, don't put the bottle down. Don't wait until next time, yes the label/name is tacky but the whiskey is legit. I very much enjoyed this neat and bought a bottle the day after trying a pour from a friend of mine. Flavors are quite developed for a bottle this cheap... Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 15, 2020 (edited September 24, 2020)I think this is closer to a 3.9 but that's not an option so here we are. I am really fond of this bottle and maybe if it wasn't a BT bourbon it would be more kind to it but they've become so hard to find anywhere near MSRP that I can't give an unbiased review. The flavors were very very good, proofed correctly (for my palate), with a nice finish that had nice depth. As far as non barrel proof bottles go- this is a very good option.65.0 USD per Bottle -
A solid scotch, but I don't drink scotch. The flavors offered are rich and definitive, but a bit too floral for me to crave but for rare occasions when I need a break from Bourbon and Rye. I appreciate that this bottle takes a stand offering bold flavors compared to other blue scotches where the flavor profile is largely muted.35.0 USD per Bottle
