Tastes

The nose is very herbal, with eucalyptus, a touch of anise, menthol, sage, and a little bit of oak, and nutmeg. The palate and finish are very smooth although bold with vanilla, an almost toasted marshmallow caramel note, and the herbal notes from the nose carried through the finish. This whiskey finds a striking balance between a smooth, sweet, and warming sip and a strongly herbal and spicy one. Batch number 19I13

On the nose: very floral, freshly cut oak, candied cherries, vanilla. The palate is very fruity, with plums and blueberries rounded with caramel and leather. The finish is bold and herbal, with deep oak undertones.

On the nose: vanilla, oak, toasted pecan. The palate opens up with caramel, milk chocolate, and ripe fruits. The finish is a little harsh and muddied. The alcohol burn is strong, with not nearly enough body to offset it.

On the nose: sandalwood, berries, honey, vanilla. The palate is rich, incredibly complex, and almost creamy with apricot, a touch of milk chocolate, and spices that almost nod to rye but are reminiscent of scotch. Orange is strong and rich, and in the finish there’s almost a savory umami flavor that evolves into rich ripe fruits. The finish is balanced, with many new notes evolving over time. An excellent blend.
