Bardstown Bourbon Co. Fusion Series #4
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed September 19, 2021 (edited October 17, 2021)First time trying and a first time review. Enjoying neat, no rest for the pour. Nose - sweet and fruity. Chocolate, oranges, with a slight spice. Taste - sweet, salty, and fruity. A lot going on here with vanilla notes to start, citrus, cherries, then an abrupt saltiness. The finish has oak, mint, and more vanilla. The mint has a bit of spice to it. The finish is rather quick but keeps you wanting more. Pretty unique bourbon flavorings. Overall - a unique nice change of pace from your everyday bourbon. Some interesting flavors that work well together. Good bottle for the 50$ price point.50.0 USD per Bottle -

Little Book Chapter 4: Lessons Honored
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 11, 2021Freshly popped bottle enjoying neat Nose - starts a bit warm on the nose from the proof. Then comes brown sugar, marshmallows, nice crisp oak smell with some floral notes. Taste - honey off the bat on this one with some brown sugar. Then comes the oak and heat from the proof. The end is rather dry with some spicy notes from the higher proof. Overall - alway love the little book series. Presentation, limited edition and the high proof are all positives. Is the price justified compared to some of the Elijah Craig barrel proofs? You be the judge. Extra points for style with the box, label and stories. The bourbon is good but not great150.0 USD per Bottle -
2nd time review. Had the bottle opened almost 3 months now. Enjoying neat Nose - cherries and oak flow through the nose heavily. Light smell of bananas and caramel. Taste - Even better than I remember. Honey and oak kick this one off. Nice and light start to finish. There are fruity flavors of cherries and orange in the middle. The finish ends with a variety of oak char, more cherries, chocolate and vanilla. Overall - wow this is stellar. Little did I know it needed to open up a bit to release even more flavorings and not the extra strong oak flavors from my previous tasting. This is a must have

Reviewed August 29, 2021 (edited December 23, 2021)First time trying a freshly popped bottle. Enjoying neat. Nose - really strong caramel smell. There is also the typical GD peanut smell along with some vanilla and ending with a spicy mint. Taste - honey, vanilla and mint with a lot of oak in the beginning. The finish has a lot going on with some earthy notes, oak, cinnamon and clove which are a bit spicy to the tongue. Overall - another good offering from George dickel. Solid choice under 50$ price point. I will continue to buy these every year they release them.45.0 USD per Bottle -
Old Elk Straight Wheated Bourbon
Bourbon — Colorado , USA
Reviewed August 27, 2021 (edited May 25, 2022)First time trying and a brand new cracked bottle. Enjoying neat. Nose - graham crackers and that golden honey cookie smell instantly come to mind. Also getting some fruity flavors of citrus and dark cherries along with cinnamon. Taste - starts very rich and full with a nice influence of cocoa and honey with a mix of graham crackers. The finish comes in quick which is pretty tart and cinnamon which dries out the tongue. Overall - both bottles of old elk I have tried I have enjoyed. This is a nice addition to their already growing brand. Great bottle and label, the nose is delicious, bourbon is good but ends a bit too tart for my liking. Nonetheless a good bourbon55.0 USD per Bottle -
George Dickel 11 Year Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky (Fall 2008)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed August 27, 2021 (edited September 5, 2021)First time reviewing a bottle opened around a week ago. Enjoying neat. Nose - typical GD nose with some peanuts however this time they are sugar and honey coated! Mix that with a hint of cinnamon and light fruity flavorings. Taste - typical gd nose but not your typical gd taste. This one has some unique flavorings of a nice apple cinnamon pie with pecans, oak and ends a bit tart and dry. Fruity and full bourbon. Hard not to like some fresh tastes from GD. Overall - loved their first BIB that was full of peanuts. This is a breath of fresh air with your not so typical flavors. Great bourbon with a stellar nose45.0 USD per Bottle -
3rd time trying a bottle open for a week. Nose - fruity and floral. Oranges and cherries with cinnamon and vanilla. Taste - light start with a hefty middle and finish. Very fruity throughout. Orange peel, chocolate and cherries. Ends very fruity. Overall - decent bottle with an excellent looking label. I love the story behind all orphan barrel bottles. This one takes a hit to the wallet at 100 or more retail. Is the bourbon worth it? That’s for you to decide.

Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 26, 2021 (edited March 23, 2022)3rd time trying but this time a freshly popped bottle. First time review. Nose - slightly fruity maybe some apples there along with honey and vanilla mixed with some brown sugar and some light heat. Taste - starts a tad spicy which is not expected from a 94 proof but not overbearing. The middle comes to a variety of flavors of vanilla and oak. The end and finish is where most the action for me is with chocolate candies, lightly spicy, a ton of this sweet vanilla char that I cannot even describe but it’s delicious and keeps me wanting more and more. Overall - love what the heaven hill distillery did here with their already great Elijah Craig brand. This is an excellent bottle I am going to thoroughly enjoy95.0 USD per Bottle -
First time review of the makers 101 but had this bourbon a few times. Enjoying a glass neat. Nose - spicy vanilla notes and a sugary candy smell. Taste - very strong vanilla presence through the start, middle and tones down in the finish. The oak and char come in around the middle and continue through the finish. Classic makers here with vanilla, some heat, and oak char. Overall - again I am always a sucker for a limited release. This is a nice classic makers mark smooth vanilla and oak profile with a slight more kick to it.40.0 USD per Bottle
