Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 14
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 7, 2020 (edited December 6, 2020)First time enjoying neat at a bar Nose - heavy heat and honey. There is also a heavy apple cinnamon pie presence to the nose. Sugar and heat perfect balance. Taste - starts very very full with vanilla and honey explosion. Light oak, leather and cherries with apple pie. Surprisingly no cinnamon I can find. The finish has some heat to bring this bourbon to a great balance. Overall - damn this is great. Why are these so hard to find? Because they are bar none the best.15.0 USD per Pour -
Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch C920
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 5, 2020 (edited November 13, 2020)Enjoying a freshly popped bottle neat. Also plan to have another review with an ice cube or two. Nose - love the nose. A great sweet heat. Very light burn but an overall sugar coated cherry nose. Taste - very full, heavy and warm on the tongue probably due to the proof. There is a good mixture of sweet and spicy throughout the palate. It also has that “earthy” taste to it towards the back end. Charred oak, sugary sweetness, cashew peanuts, cherries and leather sum this one up. Overall - a great very full bourbon with a great balance of sugary sweetness and a nice spicy heat. Compared to some other barrel proof offerings I have had, this one is in the middle not the best and not the worst50.0 USD per Bottle -
Crown Royal Salted Caramel
Flavored Whiskey — Canada
Reviewed November 5, 2020 (edited November 11, 2022)Enjoying a glass with three ice cubes Nose - all salted caramel sugary goodness here. So sweet it almost gives me a headache. Taste - much like the nose. Salted caramel sweet overload. The ice helped ever so slightly mellow this down but it’s still far too sweet for my liking. Overall - limited edition crown here so it has that wow factor but you must be prepared for the a sweetness overload. I will not be drinking this neat or on the rocks ever again. Will find good mixers and play around with it. Points to the rating for a unique flavor.24.0 USD per Bottle -
Freshly popped bottle enjoying a glass neat Nose - cherries, oak, and a sugary sweet smell Taste - a lot of cherries and oak throughout on this one. There is also some mint that brings in some spiciness to the palate. Subtle but if chocolates at towards the end and then comes the mint and spice. Very savory tasting bourbon that is pretty unique. Much better than my previous bottle thus far. Overall - nose is nothing special but the taste is quite unique. Style points for the bottle and a great juice.40.0 USD per Bottle

Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2019 RC6
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 22, 2020 (edited December 6, 2020)Freshly cracked bottle enjoying a glass neat Nose - smells like makers 46 to me with more ethanol burn. Loads of vanilla and baking spices plus cinnamon and a nice light ethanol burn. Taste - classic vanilla like most makers have up front along with some heavy oak and caramel. The middle and end quickly turns into a load of baking spices and hot cinnamon probably attributed to the higher proof. Nice leather and pepper finish that is short. Overall - another classic makers and without too hefty of a price tag. This one to me is like makers 46 on steroids and really dig it but not in love with it60.0 USD per Bottle -
Horse Soldier Premium Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Ohio, USA
Reviewed October 19, 2020 (edited November 28, 2020)Been a long time since last reviewing this one. Enjoying a glass neat. Nose - vanilla caramel custard dessert on the nose along with a nice light nutty smell. Quite a good and sweet nose to this one. Taste - sweet and sugary front along with cherries and almonds. The finish is rather short with a nice peppery burn to even out the sweetness. There is more nuttiness and Smokey hints to go along with the short finish. Overall - great nose, great story behind the bottle. Juice is good but not great. -
Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2020 SE4 x PR5
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 5, 2020 (edited November 10, 2020)First time trying freshly popped bottle, enjoying neat. Nose - a heap of cinnamon takes over the nose. There is also a lot of baking spices and oak plus some vanilla, but not as much as you would think considering it’s in the description on the bottle. Taste - a lot going on here. I find myself trying a sip over and over trying to figure it all out. I get quite a bit of cinnamon spices that is quite warm on the tongue. Light vanilla and caramel but I was expecting more. Flavors I get are heavy spicy cinnamon, light vanilla, light caramel, heavy mint, and oak. The finish is medium with candy, a bitterness and then oak at the very end. Very well balanced of sweet and spicy on the palate. Overall - makers mark nailed another one and they didn’t steer far away from home. Full of flavor, great looking bottle, classic red wax, plus it’s allocated. This makes for a great bottle. I find myself wanting more and more.60.0 USD per Bottle -
Been a while since I last reviewed the eagle. Enjoying neat Nose - so much going on and smells so so good. Chocolate, sugar, fruity notes of cherries, bananas and I even get a crazy small note of grapes. Taste - rich, full and very sweet up front. Almost like a light chocolate syrup. This bourbon is like a candy. It’s sweetness up front is accompanied by a nice and light bite to even out the sweetness. Flavors I get throughout are chocolate, vanilla, marshmellows, fruity notes of cherries and oranges. So much going on for a budget bourbon. Overall - this has to be one of my favorites. So much bang for the buck. Sweet overall profile but has some balance. When you can find this bottle it is a must buy30.0 USD per Bottle

2nd time review. Enjoying neat. Nose - a lot of heat on the nose. Cinnamon red hots candy, fruity notes of orange peel, bananas and very floral. Taste - very sweet and light start. There’s caramel, honey and sugar. This makes way into some cinnamon, pepper and oak with a ton of floral tastes on a very long finish that is very well balanced.

First time trying, newly popped bottle enjoying neat Nose - so many sweet elements! Sugar, honey, vanilla, caramel, honey roasted peanuts, and lightly fruity with hints of orange peel. Taste - taste is much similar to the nose. A ton of sweet notes on the palate. It’s rather thin on the tongue but explosions of all the flavors. Vanilla and honey hit up front and roll through most of this one. The finish is very short. I get more sweetness throughout the finish that reminds me of a cinnamon bun and the ever so slight note of pepper. Overall - if you prefer a sweet bourbon, here you go! I would like a little more balance but I am a big fan of the sweet bourbons. Very good overall.42.0 USD per Bottle
