Little Book Chapter 3: The Road Home
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed September 20, 20202nd time review - neat Nose - caramel, light vanilla, smoke, oranges, ethanol. Taste - very full and hot to the tongue but not in a bad way at all. Caramel beginning with some vanilla. This gets very Smokey with more vanilla notes and orange peel to even this out. The finish gets more smoke and spicy. Long finish with smoke, oak, cinnamon, and vanilla. Overall - great unique bourbon I would call Smokey and well balanced.99.0 USD per Bottle -
Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 19, 2020 (edited September 20, 2020)First time trying out of a newly popped bottle. Enjoying neat. Nose - very unique nose. Quite a bit of ethanol burn here, some uncommon spices, caramel, and oak. The ethanol really takes over the nose in my opinion. Taste - good sweet and spicy taste here. Starts out lightly sweet and very full. Immediately after a quick sweet sensation there is a lot of smoke, oak and spices. This continues through to the finish and unfortunately gets a little bitter to me in the very end. Overall - this bottle had a ton of hype and with a 50-65$ price tag and not always easy to find I am a bit underwhelmed my first pour. Not bad but I just expected better. Going to let it rest and keep re-visiting this bottle.50.0 USD per Bottle -
First time trying. Enjoying neat Nose - not much here. I get vanilla and caramel. Taste - hot vanilla starts this one off. This pretty much stays the same throughout the beginning, middle and finish. A lot of vanilla and some fruity flavors. The finish is rather short with even more vanilla and the fruit really starts to come out more. Overall - I have to say this is not my favorite from the Elijah Craig barrel proofs. Anyone who likes vanilla will be in love. For 60$ it’s a good buy but would not spend more.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch C919
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 16, 2020 (edited July 23, 2021)2nd time review. Trying this time neat. Nose - wow there is a lot going on here. More than I can describe. Caramel, heavy cinnamon with heat, vanilla, dark cherries, apples, and nice heat from the ethanol. Taste - this bourbon immediately gets hot right when it hits the tongue, but don’t let that scare you. Very rich, full, and oily. Great balance of a lot of sweet and spicy. Apple cinnamon starts this bourbon on the palate. This rolls into some strong vanilla, then here comes a plethora of baking spices, pepper, and some heat from the high proof. Overall - much more complex than I remember. Great heavy hitter bourbon for the 60$ range. Will be on the look out for the 2020 series now.65.0 USD per Bottle -
Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 16, 2020Reviewing this one yet again neat. Nose - caramel, vanilla, peanuts, slightly floral. Taste - vanilla, caramel and floral. Finish is somewhat bitter. Taste is more bland than I recall. Overall - always have to give huge style points to the bottle, but the bourbon is just so so. Nothing special but not bad by any means. -
2nd time to review. Enjoying neat. Nose - big time caramel up front. Honey, light smoke, and a hint of leather. Taste - sweet and savory. Caramel honey and some vanilla. Transition into more of the balance this bourbon gets with some slightly spicy notes. There is a almost burnt char end to this that isn’t the most pleasant but can’t complain much for the money. Overall - unique bottle and cork. Great price range. This bourbon is on the overall sweeter spectrum. Great bourbon for the money.

Little Book Chapter 3: The Road Home
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed September 15, 2020First time trying this one. Enjoying neat. Nose - a nice Smokey and complex nose. Vanilla, fruity, caramel and Smokey. Taste - nice full flavored punch of vanilla and moves into some fruity flavors of orange peel. This transitions into a nice Smokey finish with medium heat from the higher proof that it is. Finish is nice and long with more smoke, oak, and a good balance of more vanilla. Overall - love what they did here with a nice Smokey bourbon that is well balanced with sweetness and heat. I hate that the price is over 100 but if you want a great unique bottle and enjoy some smoke flavors, this is a must buy.99.0 USD per Bottle -
2nd time review of this bourbon. Enjoying with a single ice cube. Nose - a lot going on here. Cherries, orange, floral, oak, a lot of bitterness Taste - this tastes much different then I remember. I get a lot of oak, floral, spices, leather, and bitter flavors of a rye. Overall - I remember this being better. Maybe my taste buds have changed away from this unique rye. It’s not bad but I can’t necessarily say I want to drink more either. Cool bottle cool label and could be a great rye for the right drinker.

4th time reviewing this bottle - enjoying neat Nose - smells so so good. Tons of sweet treats. I get chocolate, honey, vanilla custard, cherries, lightly floral. Taste - not as sweet this time like the nose suggests. Honey leads the way with a very bold full and rich palate. The finish is medium with a lot of oak, leather and caramel. Not much heat to this one at all. Overall - yet another great bottle from michters. A must have for anyone who appreciates a good sweet bourbon with very little bite
