Rock Hill Farms Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 20, 2020 (edited December 13, 2021)First time enjoying a freshly popped bottle neat. Nose - sweet notes of sugar, honey, and oak char. Taste - almost exactly how the nose predicts. There are loads of sugar and honey with a very slight char and little to no heat. Very easy to get wrapped up and sip more and more. Overall - sweet and savory bourbon that eludes so many people being so hard to find. Very good bourbon but I cannot say it’s outstanding. -
Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch 13
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed December 11, 2020 (edited January 1, 2021)First time review. Enjoying a glass neat from a buddy. Nose - vanilla overload on the nose. There is a bit of mint and baking spices. Taste - heat on the tongue at first as expected from the proof. A ton of vanilla, Smokey oak char, and a little bit of cinnamon. Very full very balanced sweet with heat. Overall - great offering from Buffalo trace. Very well balanced which is what you want in a bourbon. Surprisingly not much heat at all but just enough to let you know it’s there. -
Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 28, 2020 (edited November 29, 2020)Long time since last review. Enjoying a bottle that’s been opened for a while, neat. Nose - always loved the nose of a good Blanton’s. Honey, spices, vanilla, a nice clean ethanol heat, slightly fruity. Good nose as always Taste - vanilla and honey flavorings throughout. More floral than I remember my last pour. Has a nice light heat and pepper finish. There is a tartness in the finish that is throwing me off tonight. Overall - as always a good pour. Nose is better than the taste if I’m being totally honest. Maybe I need to shake this bottle some as I remember far more flavor profiles my last tasting. -
Giving this one another try after my bottle has opened up. Enjoying a glass neat. Nose - nice light and sweet. A lot of vanilla, fruits, caramel, and some alcohol burn. Taste - nice sweet and spicy. A ton of baking spices, vanilla and cinnamon candies. A nice burn throughout and especially in the end. The finish is nice and long. Overall - good high proof bourbon I hear a lot about but the hefty price tag and limited availability draw me back from rating this higher than a 6-6.5. Just expect more flavors for the proof and the price tag

Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 27, 2020 (edited January 15, 2021)Trying a pour again after the bottle has had a chance to open up some. Enjoying neat Nose - heavy alcohol burn. A lot of spices, rye, and brown sugar. There is also a heap of mint which can be mistaken for a spicy burn of ethanol. Taste - baking spices, rye and vanilla up front. Fruity and floral in the middle and the finish is medium. Very dry and bitter finish. This is much better this go around but still not one of my favorites. Overall - hard to find bourbon for 50$ in my area. The nose and taste are both unique but just don’t fit my palate profile. Nonetheless it’s a unique juice. -
Enjoying a glass neat with a buddy Nose - very fruity. Orange peel and cherries. Sweet and savory nose. Taste - sweet full and savory. Caramel, vanilla, fruits of cherries. Lightly spicy with a short finish. Finish has some leather notes. Overall - cool bottle, story and label. Price tag doesn’t kill you. Nice sweet bourbon that’s complex and matches it’s price point

Old Tub Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 21, 2020 (edited January 2, 2021)Enjoying a pour neat from a buddies house Nose - never had a bourbon I don’t like the smell of but here we are. Ethanol burn, oak and char. Taste - sweet up front nice honey and cinnamon. The middle and finish are very robust with a lot of oak and char. Not much going on here. Overall - won’t be adding this to my collection. Nose is bad, bottle branding is ok, name is about as bad as it gets and makes me think was this put in an old tub before bottled? -
Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 17, 2020Enjoying a freshly popped bottle neat. Nose - wow there is a lot going on here and is quite good. Vanilla, caramel, cherries, oranges, spices, oak and an off and on strong tobacco smell. Very advanced nose Taste - quite a bit going on here. First sip is met with vanilla and caramel. There is a modest fruit of cherries and oranges in the middle. The end is full of oak and corn. The corn is a bit overpowering and quite sweet. Not much spice to the palate. Overall - hard to complain for a whopping 17$. I enjoy the nose more than the tasting. Just too much corn for my liking and not enough balance. Nonetheless it’s a good inexpensive bourbon17.0 USD per Bottle -
Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 7, 2020 (edited November 9, 2020)Enjoying neat at a bar. Nose - apples, cinnamon, oak, leather, apricots and other various fruits and spices. Taste - surprised by the reviews on here with it being spicy. I do not get the spice as described. Lots of apples, cinnamon, vanilla, oak, and some light Smokey notes. Not near as fruity as the nose suggests. Overall - another great offering from Elijah craig. Cannot wait to find my own bottle to enjoy. Solid pour10.0 USD per Pour -
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B520
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 7, 2020 (edited November 9, 2020)First time trying neat in a bar setting. Nose - hardly any heat at all which is surprising from the high proof. This bourbon smells like a candy. Vanilla, apples, sugary candies, maple syrup. It’s an overload of just tasty treats on the nose. Taste - not as full and spicy to the tongue as you would expect. This is one of those bourbons that is so complex you find yourself trying it over and over trying to figure it out. Vanilla is the heavy favorite with some lightly charred oak. The finish ends very long with a nice abrupt sugar with spicy red hot candy to the tongue. Overall - comparing a few barrel proofs this week and this one just falls short of another comparison. The nose is absolutely stellar. The juice is very good but doesn’t quite meet the match to another. Nonetheless still a stellar bourbon14.0 USD per Pour
