Kentucky Owl Confiscated Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed March 8, 2023Kentucky Owl! I was surprised by how different of a profile this bottle had. I first noticed while the mouthfeel was very young and thin, the flavor boast with lot of butterscotch and candied toffee. The mid-palate was floral and had faint hints of lemon citrus. The finish was short and underwhelming, but I did find notes of baking spcies.
Widow Jane 10 Year Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — USAReviewed March 8, 2023I was personally expecting a bit more from this bottle. Although, I will say the quenessential bourbon notes are widely pronounced throughout the sipping experience. Notes of corn, caramel, sweet vanilla, and oak char are fully represented. Truly a classic and balanced bourbon.
George Dickel 13 Year Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky (Spring 2007)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USAReviewed March 7, 2023 (edited April 15, 2023)Once again Tennessee whisky shines. *Some people love Dickel and others not so much* The mouthfeel allows for flavors to truly stick to the palate. Im getting loads of brown sugar and sweet granola up front. The mid-palate has hints of leather and rich tobacco which I appreciate! On the finish im getting a lot of oak char, deep tannins, and that charcoal-Lincoln County process is fully represented. On of my favorite Tennessee offerings.
The Clover 10 Year Single Barrel Tennessee Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Tennessee , USAReviewed February 27, 2023Crazy enough but Tennessee whiskey just hits different! The leather! The charcoal! The sweet vanilla! A bit wildflower honey! Just a lovely easy sipper!
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandReviewed February 23, 2023Ill save you the long exstensive explanation! Hands down this is my favorite scotch. It balances every flavor perfectly from the mouthfeel, to the peat, and finally that sweet sea breeze finish.
Bourbon — Tennessee (bottled in Kentucky), USAReviewed February 20, 2023The tatsing experience is complex and simple all together. It reminds me of that fruit cake your forced to try during the holiday season.
Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USAReviewed February 11, 2023Theres something about the Weller reserve that is super refreshing. I really like the notable oak presence. There’s lots of vanilla and caramel, but im also getting some good herbal notes and baking spices! Super clean and truly a really good sipper!
Breckenridge Distillers High Proof Blend
Bourbon — Colorado, USAReviewed January 31, 2023The high proof offering reminds me a lot of the lower proof offering. The only main difference is that the oak finish lingers just a bit longer. Although the proof is a bit higher… I don’t get that good bourbon burn I’m looking for!
Breckenridge Buddy Pass Imperial Stout Cask Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Colorado, USAReviewed January 31, 2023For this Breckenridge offering the stout notes are there and the proof is just right. I’m getting a lot of milk/lactose sugars on the entire palate. Notes of rich chocolate, toffee, and burnt brown sugar. The oak undertones are nice, and there’s a chocolate ice-cream finish that lingers. *Be patient… Sip three/four does it!* As the bourbon opens up the stout finish comes more to life! Very good pour!
Bourbon — USAReviewed January 31, 2023The Breckenridge whiskey is a good entry dram. Very sweet overall. Some of its richness is lost in the youthful undertones. This would be a great whiskey to share with friends and introduce others to the joys of bourbon. Quintessential bourbon flavors: Sweet corn, vanilla, some caramel and a bit of youthful burn to round out the flavors.
