High West Rendezvous Rye
Rye — (bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed July 14, 2022 (edited January 20, 2023)A lot going on with this! I get some blackberries upfront. The mid palate reminds me of a slice of coffee cake with loads of spices. The finish has a hint of minty and malty characteristics! The entire tasting is complex and could go in many different directions. -
Ezra Brooks Cask Strength Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 14, 2022 (edited February 9, 2023)Very good! Apple bread pudding smothered in caramel and pecans. Lots of black pepper and ethanol burn, but it’s totally worth it. Good bourbon! -
Mellow Corn Bottled in Bond Whiskey
Corn — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 14, 2022 (edited September 5, 2022)A must try! Very different and modestly sweet… Extremely corn forward, but also very thin and light throughout the palate! -
J.T.S. Brown Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 14, 2022 (edited November 27, 2022)A good daily sipper! The mid palate is primarily caramel and roasted peanuts. On the finish I get bits of spearmint and eucalyptus which is very interesting! -
Bardstown Bourbon Co. Fusion Series #7
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 29, 2022 (edited July 2, 2022)The whole palate presents toasted light brown sugar, orange blossom honey, and baking spices. The finish reminds me of southern sweet tea. Exceptional whiskey!! -
Hints of cherry cigar smoke meets me up front. A sweet smoked vanilla is on the mid-palate as well as some bits of buttered cinnamon apples. The finish presents a lot of tamed oak wood! Very easy drinking, rich, and full! More characteristics come forward as the journey continues. A more complex dram for sure!!
