Nose: classic irish malt on the nose, a nice strong creamy white oak, getting a hint of cherry and raspberry. Pear, baking spice as well. Palate: berry and cherry on the palate for sure. Vanilla, cream soft oak. Dried cranberries show up as well as the red apple. Baking spices continue. Buttery Shortbread. Incredibly drinkable and smooth for 92 proof Finish: light toasted oak. Reviewed January 22, 2024 (edited January 23, 2024)Flaviar advent calendar day #15 Nose: peat, mild lemon zest, smoke, touch of salt air. Has an almost floral element. As you acclimate, a creamy buttery vanilla and fresh mowed grass appears Palate: bright, sweet, lively. There's a creamy vanilla, bright lemon zest, like caramel. A solid chewy and sweet malt throughout that is relatively light on the palate. Peat and smoke elements are here gently wrapping the above together. There's a touch of lemongrass as well. Finish: charcoal, smoked ham, salt air, mellow oak tannin. -
Nose: oily, wood spice. weirdly some earth, likely the sherry, obviously its not peat. Cinnamon bread. Light medicinal note. Fruity. Getting some candy/marzipan as it rests? Palate: shortbread, strong fruitiness. Apple, oak. Sweet but not sickly. Baking spice. Caramel. Getting the darker elements this time. maple syrup. Finish: oak tannin, warming baking spice.

Flaviar advent calendar day #14 Nose: Milla vanilla, some very mild floral and fruity notes that are largely indistinct. Salted nuts are present too. A hint of oak and malt. Palate: caramel, spiced bitter oak, vanilla, a touch of brown sugar and chocolate. Hint of orange peel and slight apple cinnamon note. I can see it opening up with a slight menthol. Mild ethanol note here too. Finish: mild heat, bitter oak, thin, hints of cocoa

Reviewed January 17, 2024 (edited January 18, 2024)Flaviar advent calendar day #13 Nose: orange peel, cinnamon, nuttiness, overripe fruit, dense whole grain bread, sweet malt Palate: milk chocolate, butterscotch. chewy and full bodied. Cinnamon, spicy toasted oak, some strong fruity notes here, very slight citrus, more stone fruit. Dark chocolate covered candied ginger as it transitions to finish. Finish: coco, bitter oak, lemon peel? Charred oak barrel spice -
Flaviar Advent calendar day # 12 Nose: tropical fruit, cereal, slight vanilla, mild nuttiness, honey. Picking up maybe a tiny hint of peat? Palate: salted caramel, toffee, mild lemon zest and vanilla. Strong fruitiness that's hard to pin down exactly somewhere between fig and cooked pineapple of all things. Spicy toasted oak. Sweet but not overly so. Smooth and creamy. Finish: chocolate, oak, mild grain whiskey bite.

Plum, apple, oak tannin, mild cranberry. A little spicy, pepper as it transitions to finish. Finish: thin, back of throat heat, mild grain and oak, slight minerality
