Nose: Vanilla, orange, brown sugar sweetness, smells like a finished old fashioned lol Nose after swirl: very slight ethanol burn, apple? on top of the orange Palette: Medium mouthfeel, surprising amount of the nose moves into the pallete; orange, vanilla, brown sugar... slight apothecar-ian herbal note, works wonders on the palette when drinking it while eating Rosemary Fries... wow! Finish: little to no ethanol burn AKA smooth as heck, lingers for a moment with more of the palette... beautiful daily sipper.18.0 USD per Pour

Lagavulin 2005 Distillers Edition (Bottled 2020)
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 25, 2021 (edited October 25, 2022)Nose: Obvious Lagavulin peat and smoke, lighter floral notes that elevate this from the 16, sweetness plays off the oak, salty sea spray without the fishy-ness Nose after swirl: Caramel and ethanol come out above the smoke, much sweeter Pallete: Medium-thick mouthfeel, that Lagavulin campfire smoke comes through easily, surprisingly spicy for a 43%, medicinal floral notes like a fresh mint straight from the garden (thank u Amari for that note) Finish: not really dry at all, smoky mint comes through in the finish... doesn't change too much from the pallete.125.0 USD per Bottle -

Tasted in a rocks glass... and it's a little cold?, so muddled... Nose: Classic bourbon brown sugar, kick of spicy... peppercorn?, very slight apple, cake batter (birthday cake) Nose after swirl: Ethanol comes out swinging, apple moves more to the forefront pushing out the sugar sweetness Pallete: Very thin mouthfeel, follows through on the nose in a watered-down way... tastes like it would make a great mixer Finish: fleeting, slight sweetness overpowered by... nothingness Not impressed, I don't get the hype8.5 USD per Pour

Note: served in a shot glass, not a glencairn, so flavors may be muted... Nose: Simple nose, sweet brown sugar and that definitional bourbon smell Can't swirl because it's in a shot glass lol Pallete: Thin mouthfeel, very smooth but very one note, and a bit mellow (a nice way to say it tastes watered-down) with classical bourbon flavors, odd funk I can't quite put my finger on... could be the mashbill Finish: doesn't linger, more of the same from the palette.9.95 USD per Pour
