Tastes

Good basic everyday bourbon. Add some water and you can taste a lot of corn and grain. Good to keep around for a backup bottle. At this price ($25 for 1.75 ltr in NJ) it's a good one to have at a BBQ or block party.

A bit better than JW Red. Nothing too exciting. Nose is mostly ethanol with some fruity notes. Taste is similar with some slight grain notes. Medium finish.

This does not taste like bourbon, as it is so light and acetone-like. With my eyes closed, I could not tell if it was cheap bourbon or a bottom-shelf blended scotch! Nose is ethanol and nail-polish remover. Taste is similar with a burning spicy sensation, followed by a bitter finish. I will save the rest to serve to those neighbors I dislike, this Summer!

Very hot...some musty oak...slightly sweet on the medium finish. Leaves the mouth hot and numb, the palate with a slight sense of honey oak. Not smooth, not sweet, not complex. Add this to some cheap no-frills soda for getting drunk only.

Harsh, heavy, cough syrup, grape Popsicle, hot, wine mixed with Everclear

Smooth, sweet, vanilla, rich, heavy, crisp, slight grain, short finish

Smooth, very spicy, red hots, cinnamon, butterscotch, buttered toast, vanilla, grain on the medium finish. Water brings out the grain notes and tones down the heat. Well done!
