A preponderance of alcohol in the nose; I'm giving myself a head rush. Melds into mineral spirits, with a hint of fruit/honey and sulphur. Overall, not pleasant. Initially fruity to the taste. The pepper kicks in after a few seconds and stays throughout. The taste is of imitation fruit, chemical-ly. The aftertaste leaves quickly except for a slightly queasy feeling. This bottle loses it's place in the collection, relegated to the back cabinet for mixed drinks.

Yecch - this whisky is terrible. No explanation, I just don't like it.

Sweet but thin start, a wee bit spicy, no perceptible mouth feel after-the-fact. OK - there are better on the fruity/honey side - won't buy again.

This is outstanding. Starts like tasting a (tasty) ashtray, leads to a slightly peppery feeling that is very pleasing, and ends with all of the above as well as a slightly fruity tongue. This is like tasting a rainbow of Scotch - one of my best tastes ever.

Harsh, so many are better. That was uninformed, in-a-hurry papollo talking. I've had a chance to settle down and properly sip this selection, and I am so glad I did. This is awesome. Sweet, peaty, peppery, so many more tastes I can't yet verbalize....this shoots to near the top of my (short) list of single malts I've tried and want more.

Smells of delicate honey, tastes fruity and sweet but not too sweet - slight pepper. Pleasing aftertaste, light. We bought a sample bottle - time for a full one!

Sweet, not objectionable, a little pepper but not much. In a store with a limited selection of single malts, this one is a buy. Bottle at Jon's house, 8-2019

I really like this but I got lost as to why with all the drams sampled tonight. Gotta buy a bottle....dram at The Haven, Boston I bought a bottle. Nose is a bit smoky, a bit low tide, a bit paint thinner, and more I can't identify right now. Alcohol nose but not overwhelming. So far - lots of subtlety, much going on. Taste: Excellent sweet with pepper, again lots going on. Rich in the mouth - keeps on giving. I guess I taste some maritime influence because I can't ID it otherwise. Now I got some dark chocolate on the back of my tongue - just a hint. A tiny bit of nail polish remover also. This one is a keeper. I'm gonna have fun learning about Scotch with selections like this one. Got interested in the brand after viewing on Amazon Prime: Scotch - The Story of Whisky It's really a 4.375.
