Glen Moray 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 11, 2015 (edited April 24, 2018)There is a dessert in there somewhere. Lots of fruit. Banana cream pie, pineapple, some citrus notes, and a hint of wood. Very drinkable and a great value. This makes it a very good option for an every day scotch. -
Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 15, 2014 (edited June 16, 2017)I am pleasantly surprised by this bourbon. I'm not a fan of overly sweet bourbons and this one does not have that characteristic. It's highlights include a woodiness, orange peel, a little coriander, and a touch of brine. The finish is medium and the 100 proof is evident. Overall, I like it. This will make a nice sipping bourbon for the upcoming winter. -
Russell's Reserve 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 3, 2014 (edited December 25, 2014)It has a definite sweetness to it. The finish is fairly long with a slowly fading mellow tail. Feels like a little maple syrup laying on your tongue.for a bit. The flavor profile has a little peppermint candy, vanilla, a little grassy leather all fighting to poke through the maple sugar layering. Good for sipping. -
