Tastes

I got to try this while doing the bourbon trail and doing the tasting at the distillery. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was one of the best tasting bourbons I had that week. The cognac finish was very apparent making its flavor profile very different from the other bourbons we tasted that week. While the proof was very high, I thought it was quite smooth and the flavors were delicious. The dark chocolate covered cherries notes were most prominent.

Very smooth but lacking in depth of flavor. Perhaps a good option for a bourbon rookie.

Very spicy, full bodied and a lot of bite. Lots of influence from the rye.

Lots of eye spicules but very smooth. A nice bottle of bourbon

Brown sugar is the first note that comes to mind. In addition, there is salted caramel and toffee. The barrel wood also comes through along with a mild burn. Overall pretty good.

This is quite good. It's a bit like an angry old man on the sea, with a little fruitiness thrown in. It has a nice, edgy peatiness up front which is then followed by a salty tropical fruit run through the finish.
