Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed March 13, 2020 (edited July 11, 2022)Sweet, nutty, smooth. Nose: vanilla sweetness, some citrus. Palate: smooth, balanced. Sweetness and nutty elements. Aftertaste: sweet, nutty, medium. First not too spicy, but after a few sips it is getting more spicy, less sweet.26.0 USD per BottleMaglód -
Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed March 8, 2020 (edited July 11, 2022)Complex and sweet. On nose: faint smokiness, briny, spices, citrus fruits, mushroom and honey sweetness. On palate: oaky spices, sweet, then some dryness. Aftertaste: dry, sweet, spicey finish. (Nuts?) Some water softens it, makes sweet and fruity notes stronger, spicey bites weaker.45.0 USD per BottleMaglód -
Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 4, 2020 (edited January 26, 2021)Intense, spicey. On nose: despite the high ABV on nose this is very pleasant. Strong sherry influence. Plum, some sweetness, warming spices. With some water: cinammon, nutmeg became dominant, fruity notes are in the background. Pears. Still very nice. Palate: neat - it is aggresive. Spicey notes first, then strong alcohol destroyed everything for me. With some water it gets creamy, honey, some bitter oak spices just before swallowing it. Pleasant caramel finish. For me the best Glenfarclas, due to the relatively weaker oaky spices.45.0 USD per BottleMaglód -
Teeling Single Pot Still Batch 3
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed February 2, 2020 (edited April 6, 2020)Fruits and spices. Nose: extra fruity. Tropical fruits, mango, citrus, vanilla. No big spicyness. Some alcohol. Palate: creamy, vanilla, tropical fruits. Then spice comes to be dominant. Finish: dry, sweet, ginger spiceyness. 46% like all Teeling stuff.43.0 USD per BottleMaglód -
Kilkerran 8 Year Cask Strength Sherry Cask (2019)
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed January 17, 2020 (edited November 21, 2020)Complex and funky. On nose: beautiful, complex. Very strong sherry notes, rubbery, plum, warming spices, hint of smoke. Caramel(?) swetness. All in perfect harmony. Despite the high ABV no any alcohol. Palate: for me too alcohol intensive without water, even after several sips. With some water, banana, dark fruits, creamy and warming spices with some funky note and subtle dryness during the finish. Very interesting dram.63.0 USD per BottleMaglód
