Picked this up at Costco because my go-to scotch was sold out. I’d had this a few years earlier and remember hating it, thought I’d try it again and was happy I did. - It’s nothing mind-blowing, but if you’re looking for an easy sipping lighter scotch with a hint of complexity, this will do nicely in a pinch. And cheap too!

Great dram. A bit of a smoky (almost peaty) taste. Great Christmas whisky.

“One of my favorite.” I tried this based on a recommendation from friends, acquaintances and of course whisky.com. - I love the Lasanta version in sherry casks and hoped this one would be a bit more robust and have a bit more depth. I was not disappointed. The nose is dark, rich, and full of sweet dark fruits (plumb, raisin, etc.). The taste is smooth, rich, soft and velvety mouth coating with a soft punch of spice at the end. The aftertaste remains for quite a while and is equally as enjoyable. I’m quite certain I won’t let a drop of this get away and will likely be buying another bottle soon.

Smooth and slightly sweet with a bit of spice at the end. Not too complex. A small hint of sea air throughout.

A bit too spicy for my taste. The tasting notes say, “The palate is soft and light creamy...”. Light and creamy I would agree with, but not soft. Sharp initially, spicy, a bit harsh, followed by a smooth, light fruitiness. It’s okay for a change of pace, but I probably won’t be buying another.

3.5 stars. For the price ($29-$35) you cant go wrong.
