Some fruity peach and melon aromas, along with some mineral that is apparent when not immediately following a sniff of Siembra Valles. A little vegetal on the palate, with some of those cement and orange pith notes in there. Comes across as a more restrained and balanced version of SV with a better mouthfeel, which itself is pretty good.80.0 USD per Bottle

The nose has a little bit of conifer tree with an obvious lactic/cheesy funk, but apparently some don't get the cheese. On the palate there's some anise, goat cheese, tea, sour apple, with a moderately long earthy finish. It's not my favorite but it's so interesting that it makes me want to try more raicillas.

El Tesoro 85th Anniversary Extra Añejo Tequila
Tequila Extra Añejo — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed July 29, 2023 (edited July 30, 2023)Balanced nose featuring caramel, cinnamon, a little agave. Medium body, caramel notes without the agave being overwhelmed. The bourbon definitely makes itself known despite barely qualifying as an XA. Reminds me a little of 7L D'Antano, which is like half the price. It's decent stuff, but let's be real, I feel sorry for anybody who pays the $500+ RRP for a bottle of this.65.0 USD per Pour -
Glenlivet 18 Year Batch Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed July 29, 2023 (edited September 26, 2023)Aroma offers some butterscotch and a hint of strawberry. On the palate there's some oak, vanilla, cream. Light bodied, with a little bitterness on the finish. Like most Glenlivets I've had, it's a little unremarkable but not bad. The nose is the best part. -
First impression from the nose is the essence of an old dusty stone room. As it airs, some sweeter, fruitier aromas appear. The palate is only slightly sweet, vegetal, with some vanilla, tropical fruit, and melon up front; and a long finish with some smoke, spice, and a hint of wet grass. Overall, it has a distinct character, but probably not something I'll seek out.
