Decided to line up my collection of 5 Sentidos mezcals, as I just bought a new one to replace one that's almost empty. This one is the Sierra Negra, which takes up to 15 years to mature, and was roasted with encino oak and acacia leaves. I detect aromas of grass and wet leaves, and maybe some melon. Perhaps it smells a little like the desert after rain on account of the acacia. The palate is slightly sweet, with some melon, parsley, and a more vegetal and peppery finish.

Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or Sauternes Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 7, 2023 (edited September 25, 2023)Stone fruit, vanilla, honey. Medium body, coats the mouth. Not very complex, but solid enough. Clear cut above the 10 and Lasanta. -
Oof. I had the full strength CR Ardcore at a bar and actually thought it was pretty solid, but (incorrectly) figured I wouldn't be able to find a bottle, so bought a 46% ABV version... and what a difference. Some of the chocolaty flavor notes are there, but the mouthfeel just completely ruins it. Watery as hell. Now I'm hesitant to try Heavy Vapours because I haven't seen the full strength version yet. I've never been more thrilled to have killed a bottle.

Cameronbridge 1992 28 Year Cask #115125 (ImpEx Collection)
Single Grain — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 16, 2023 (edited June 19, 2023)Very grain forward, bready. A little hot. The sherry cask contributes some spice. A little musty, but doesn't drink like it spent 28 years in a sherry cask. Haven't had much single grain whisky, but based on this I'm probably not seeking them out.
