The Irishman 12 Year Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed May 13, 2020 (edited August 25, 2020)The nose is white chocolate, with some leaves as well, very pleasant and not choking The palate is a bit lighter than expected, but continues with the impression of white chocolate, with also very identifiable peach notes. Toffee sweet. The finish concentrates into an espresso with dark chocolate and some smoke. I actually really like this one, it is like a perfect digestif that ends a meal well with something smooth, a bit sweet and coffee like. -
I am actually surprised to see so many negative comments. I agree the price tag is a bit high, but I think it lives up to the expectation of a slightly more pricey Mortlach. The nose is delicate with apples, nuts and caramel. On palate it is elegant - very smooth with apples and apricots, followed by some toasted marshmallows and cinnamon. The finish is lingering honey with toasty notes. I am happy to have this bottle on my shelf and it is a great drink to accompany a book or a classic movie.120.0 USD per Bottle

The first sniff feels like Japanese shochu with shiso aromas, floral and peppery notes comes after. On palate it is oily and sweet, fairly spicy with pepper and chilli hot. The alcohol heat is mild however. With tonic the spiciness is gone and is mainly floral and a bit of citrus. I like the interesting profile of having in straight up or on rocks more.

Very interesting nose with peat and smoke of course, with grassy at first sniff, but afterwards also citrus, lemon zest and surprising some red fruit character. On palate it is sweet, with citrus, caramel, honey above the peat and smoke. Finish is pleasant honey sweetness that stays great for a long while

Lagavulin 2003 Distillers Edition (Bottled 2019)
Single Malt — Islay , Scotland
Reviewed April 12, 2020 (edited July 31, 2020)The nose is filled with the slightly sweet peat of Laga, with a scent of sea salt. It has intensity but not choking. On palate there is chocolate and caramel coming out quickly. Smoky and peaty as expected. The oily texture makes you feel like it is a very rich dessert with fancy smoke but is not as sweet. The finish actually brings a bit of charcoal and grass. It is soft and pleasant.135.0 USD per Bottle -
This is such a good gin for a G&T - it is very juniper and citrus driven but also got some peppery notes. It has intensity but is very smooth and harmonic on tongue - even when tasting straight up it is quite refreshing. With tonic the citrus is enhanced with lemon peel. A very nicely made craft gin that justifies its slightly higher price.65.0 USD per Bottle
