One of the better “double oaked” on the market. The sweet notes on the nose jump out immediately: vanilla bean ice cream, pound cake. More of thst pound cake or vanilla icing pops through on the taste. Some spice rounds out the end. Right there on the verge of being tok sweet but with enough bite to round it out. Perfect after dinner bourbon or to match with a light cigar.

Nose is wonderful: spearmint, wintergreen gum and wood with some sweet and fruit notes. Taste continues with wood, cinnamon/spice, maybe fruit slightly at the end. Nice finish that lingers. Great to hold in an old fashioned, especially with orange or fruity bitters. A staple to any collection or bar.

A lot of buzz behind this one. Solid bottled in bond. More of the vanilla and sugar cookie sweet than fruity sweet. Some spicy notes, again more baking spice than hot or peppery. Holds up nicely in a cocktail, made it in an old fashioned with elderflower liquor and was a nice balance. Wouldn’t pay more than SRP, but solid enough.

Bib & Tucker 6 Year Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed January 1, 2023 (edited October 27, 2023)Nose is berry, floral, grainy, light. Taste is more of the dried fruit, fig newton, and grainy floral. Shorter to medium finish. I enjoyed this again. It’s kinda young tasting, but in a good way. More complex than the normal, non big guy distillery. -
Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 31, 2022 (edited January 2, 2023)Light, young, fruity. Nose is different, not bad just different. Picking up some grains and cherry. Cherry transfers to the taste. Longer finish than expected. It’s not bad, but it’s young. Not something I would buy a bottle of, but something I wouldn’t be mad at if offered at a friend’s house. There is plenty of sherry presence without being too overbearing. Would love to see what this could be with more age - lots of potential there
