Tastes

Very nutty and woody nose. Woody / oaky from beginning to end. Trying to find other components that I like. It’s hot and spicy. Searching for the fruity or sweetness to balance it out. I thought the St Patrick’s edition was better. Might need to let it air out and revisit it later. It’s certainly good, but not great. Don’t regret the buy just might grab a different bottle next time

Fruity and grainy, sweetness throughout. Softer for having that much rye. Fine on its own, not my favorite in a cocktail.

Batch 07 - 120 proof. Really enjoyed this one. Cherry everywhere. Spicy, but drinks well under the proof. Surprisingly balanced and drinkable, medium finish. Almost too easy to drink, not lacking anything but just drinkable. A simple bourbon, good in an old fashion. Would buy another bottle

Maybe biased from the expert review, but it’s very grainy, earthy, malty, and young. It’s not bad, certainly hits some good notes. Almost reminiscent of a young crafter bourbon that’s more balanced. The only thing I hate about it is the price tag but not dying to find a bottle

Warehouse F, Floor 4: 110 Proof Nose: ginger bread, apples, cherry, cinnamon, maybe a little grainy Taste: oak, full bodied, buttery. Caramel corn. Medium finish that is pleasant. Another good Russell’s single barrel

LAX DC 2021 Proof - 133.7 Warehouse 1, Floor 8 Wood and spice bomb. Water helps to open it up. Apples, pit fruit maybe. Oak throughout. Something I need to come back to and try again not after turkey and stuffing. Very much enjoy it. A longer finish. The proof maybe hides a bit of the notes. Solid, but spicy and missing some sweet to balance which is becoming typical with barrel proof OF selections

Obviously young bourbon. Has promise if it was aged longer. Lots of grain notes, some fruity/green apples body to it. Finish longer than expected. Nice novelty piece

Second taste, middle of the bottle pour. This really opens up. Spicy, fruity, grainy finish. Not terribly sweet but hits all the right notes for a rye. Holds up well in an old fashion.

Nose smells like over 100 proof. Not too oaky or woody, but it’s definitely there. Some sweet like burnt caramel. Not bad at all - wish it was a little cheaper, but I’d buy another bottle. Might serve nicely as my old fashion bourbon.

60% corn, 36% rye, 4% barley - bottled at bardstown. Grog Shop Single Barrel. Nose is fruity and grainy. Typical rye flavor with spice, fruit. Very solid, could hold up in a cocktail. Shorter finish.
