Tastes

September 16, 2021. From a 50 ml miniature. Half an ounce in a Glencairn glass. Nice agave herbal nose, pleasant on the palate, and as usual for me, the nose is more complex than on the palate. The palate is almost an afterthought. A very necessary afterthought, I’d add! Okay, readers, what I’m doing here is actually a side-by-each comparison of Patron Silver versus Don Julio Blanco. Nope, not a blind test, so not scientific whatsoever, but hey, y’know? After several small sippy-sips I’m gonna give the nod to Don Julio, but not by a lot. Just checked prices at the BC government store, and there is price fluctuation from time to time, but they’re both currently listed in the 750 ml at $79.99 CAD

Reviewed September 15, 2021 (edited October 8, 2021)Well yes, it’s delicious, but curiously I’ve decided for now that I prefer un-barreled tequila over reposado or anejo. -
Highland Park 18 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed August 28, 2021 (edited December 14, 2021)August 28, 2021, Nordstrom 2nd floor cocktail bar, Vancouver. A 2 oz pour from a half full bottle into a small snifter. Absolutely wonderful! The usually wonderful bouquet of whiskey notes found in single malt whiskies, plus prominent peated notes. Wow!
