Westland 5th Annual Peat Week
American Single Malt — Washington, USATastedVery light color, a light hay. Nose: the peat hits you the moment you pour it. Sweeter kelpy peat, hints of cucumber, sweet mint, and salad. A bit barn yard-y. Taste: Clean malt at first, sliding quickly into barrel spice followed by floral peat. Peat smoke wraps your tongue in a cozy blanket on the finish.
High West Yippee Ki-Yay
Rye — USATastedNose: Anise, clove, herbal bitterness hops almost, the fruit comes out after a couple tastes Taste: initially clean, spicy midpalette, finishes with wine and herbs
Knob Creek Single Barrel Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USATastedNose: Cinnamon Taste: Barrel spice, black pepper, and some vegetal notes. lingering tingling finish.
Lot No. 40 Canadian Rye
Canadian — CanadaTastedNose: baking spices, red licorice, light hint of cigar Taste: black pepper and barrel spice. Velvet feel with lighter red fruit notes. Lingering heat on the finish.
Ardbeg An Oa
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandTastedDelicate for an Islay. Seaweed, damp leaves, baking spices, and that Ardbeg sweetness on the nose. Starts with olive oil and the spice creeps in with full force. Lingering black pepper and earth.
Port Charlotte 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandTastedSo yummy. Heavy yet sweet peat. Funky with a little bike tire rubber on the nose. Earthy spice with a decent barrel more. Kind of a spicy olive oil finish. A warming lingering heat.
Westward American Single Malt
American Single Malt — Oregon, USATastedWasn't a big fan. Just one note of barley with some barrel spice. It has potential but isn't there yet
Blood Oath Bourbon Pact No. 4
Bourbon — Kentucky, USATastedRock solid bourbon. Lots of barrel and rye spice which i prefer.
Woodinville Straight Rye
Rye — Washington, USATastedInteresting and complex rye. Heavy pepper and spice notes. Strong licorice presence. Getting red fruits, even strawberries, on the taste.
