TX Blended Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in) Texas, USA
Reviewed November 3, 2023 (edited January 30, 2024)Nose: Caramel and cream soda. Very unique. Palate: vanilla icing dominant, almost like custard or creme brulee. No other major notes. Overall: this is super easy to drink. Extremely unique and could almost pass for a vanilla flavored whiskey in my opinion. I’m a big fan and will be enjoying this as dessert. Though this lacks complexity, the flavor profile makes up for it. -
Nose: Butterscotch, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Palate: Oak, leather, and pepper. Slight sweetness towards the finish. Medium/long finish. Overall: Big fan of the double oak when comparing to the KSBW and to other double oaked products. Great value and complex flavor. I would reccomend, especially at the $36.99 range.36.99 USD per Bottle

First Call Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 31, 2023 (edited November 1, 2023)Nose: caramel, a bit dusty, vanilla. There is also a bitter note that I can’t quite put a note to. Palate: Cinnamonand brown sugar dominant. Long finish for 90 proof. Not overly complex, but a pleasent taste. Overall: Based on reviews, I was ready to be dissapointed. However, I was quite pleased at a price point of $20.99. This is a solid bourbon with classic flavors. It won’t blow you away, but a great every day sipper or bourbon to have out for a party.20.99 USD per Bottle -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 30, 2023 (edited November 11, 2023)Nose: Vanilla, spice, oak, and light hint of leather. Palate: Oak, caramel, baking spice, and a lingering note of raisin. Overall: great whiskey if yoh can find it. Dont pay outside of MSRP. -
Nose: Mint, bright brown sugar, citrus, and a hint if cinnamon. Palate: Anise, dill, vanilla, pepper, and apple towards the very back end. Long lasting finish. Overall: similar to my rye reviews, I found the nose much more intriguing than the pallet. The nose showed much sweeter flavors as the taste was much more spice forward. I still would reccomend this whiskey.

Nose: Tea, caramel, dill, and green apple. Palate: Vanilla, pepper, apple, followed by a dominant dill and pepper finish. Overall: Dominant rye notes. I enjoyed the nose better than the taste as the dill flavor was a bit overpowering. However, still a solid whiskey. I would like to see how this works in a cocktail.
