Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 17, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)Sweet and fruity. Brings up some oak and dark fruit in the later taste for me. Richer by a lot than the standard 10 year. Really liked this one -
Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt
Blended Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed July 6, 2020 (edited August 7, 2020)Scents of light peat, orange peel, touch of other fruit(tart pear?), vanilla. Taste for me was under ripe bananas, light spices, apple skin, malty. A bit thin. Some honey and sweet in a good way. Finishes distinctly scotch but very approachable. Nothing off-putting at all. Not so peat or smoke forward that it would be hard in a cocktail. Balanced and not over powering for my taste at all. I think I need to drink more scotch.28.0 USD per Bottle -
Approachable and easy drinking in a good way. Not over smoothed or sweet. It's definitely not a bourbon for non bourbon drinkers but for the price it elevates expectations. Caramel, demara and gentle wood faint toasted marshmallow on nose. Taste is typical bourbon sweet with mellow oak. I thought on the rocks actual harshed it a bit. I know it's not a word but I am adding it. Worth small sips to discover more complexity hidden inside.
