Taken as a sip or shot the very strong molasses flavor comes through. Smoky and spicy. I did not enjoy it. When mixed with soda the spiciness goes away and it has a nice smoky sweet flavor. If the only rum available will do good as a mixed.

I haven’t tried a Brinleys that I haven’t enjoyed. The vanilla and the coffee rums are two of the best rums I’ve ever had. This is no exception. Very good straight up, mixed with soda, or in a piña colada. If you see it in a store buy some as it’s hard to find in the States.
