Standard makers flavour, but more intense. Shade of mint showing up at the finish, with quite a bit of heat. Somehow harsher than the cask strength despite having a lower abv.

Sweet, spicy, but with the spiciness clouded by the harshness of the alcohol. Leather and dark fruit on the finish, but again, obscured by the heat. Tartness shows up on the palate after some time in the glass. Nice, but not a shade on the old 12 year old.
