Aroma- cloves, rye, buttered toast, chocolate and cinnamon. Very intriguing. Pretty awesome Taste- man the heat on this one is quite noticeable. But I’m surprised at just how much flavor pops through the alcohol. Very complex. Banana bread, brown sugar, oak vanilla. Darker fruits come through here and that cinnamon from the aroma brings it all together.

Knob Creek 12 Year Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 13, 2021 (edited November 29, 2021)Aroma - wish this was a candle. It’s really that awesome. Huge oak and vanilla. Orange peel and obvious barrel. All of which intermingle in a fantastic way Taste- following the nose, but unfortunately at a lighter note (just being ultra critical here… aroma was so insanely bold I was expecting the same in the taste) But let’s be real, this is an amazing bourbon. Definitely worth the purchase and I think that this is underrated by the community right now -
Rock Hill Farms Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 13, 2021 (edited October 1, 2021)Loved the complexity and balance. Dark fruits, oak, some hints of chocolate and rye spice. The caramel and vanilla presence is there but are both secondary. Awesome. -
Aroma- massive amount of dark fruits and vanilla. Some orange peel, cinnamon, and toasted marshmallow and oak. Pretty awesome Taste - dessert-like and it’s fantastic. Again I get that toasted marshmallow, vanilla and oak. Caramel, dark fruits pop up here again and there’s a buttery feel to it too with hints of banana bread I think OF 1910 is just a bit more complex than this. But this is a great after meal bourbon. Also would be highly recommend to new bourbon drinkers as the sweetness may take them by surprise. I also made an Old Fashion with this before and it was unreal.

Calumet Farm 15 Year Single Rack Black Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 4, 2021 (edited January 1, 2022)Aroma - massive cherries and vanilla. Some butterscotch. Nose is all dessert like. No burn, very sweet. Taste - follows the nose with cherrie and vanilla. Cinnamon, licorice, oak, dark fruit, spice. Solid bourbon. But probably not worth the price of admission as bottles in the $70 -$80 range are just as good. 4.15 -
Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 4, 2021 (edited October 12, 2021)Aroma - cinnamon, pepper, cloves , ginger bread.. There another spice in there… almost potpourri-like. Very well balanced Taste- massive amount of rye… but it’s balanced really well with cinnamon, bread like notes, sweet caramel and licorice. There is a barnyard funkiness (think hay) that adds another layer of complexity. Overall this is an outstanding rye. 4.3 range -
Aroma- my goodness. This aroma is tremendous and the complexity is outstanding. Every time it’s a new element. Up front sweet notes of caramel, vanilla, orange peel, banana bread. Rye, cinnamon oak also make their presence known. Taste- complexity shines through here again. Deep tones of sweet vanilla, caramel. Cloves, red hots, fruit is present.. maybe peach or apricot? Just a damn good beverage.

Barrell Seagrass
Rye — (bottled in) Kentucky, Multiple Countries
Reviewed September 2, 2021 (edited September 29, 2021)Aroma- doesn’t have much depth.. not a whole lot to report here. Get slight rye spice and spearmint, slight citrus and honey Taste- now well hot damn… isn’t this just an explosion of flavor of fucking awesome. Wasn’t expecting that much pop when the nose lacked complexity. Here we find it wonderfully viscous. Loads of rye spices such as cinnamon and spearmint. The apricot brandy barrel is terrific, cutting the spices down so they aren’t too bold and creates a nice balance here. Wish I had another bottle. -

Russell's Reserve 13 Year Bourbon (2021 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 21, 2021 (edited August 22, 2021)Aroma - Whoa! Bold AF! Massive oak, molasses, vanilla, candied fruits. Complexity 10/10… don’t even want to take a sip bc of how awesome this is Taste- well this is just damn good. Complex, balanced, bold. More spice comes through here than in the nose (spearmint) and it integrates so well with the massive oak and vanilla presence. Water added - no need. It’s too good and too balanced for me to even consider Drinks like a >$100 bottle
