Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 11, 2021 (edited December 16, 2022)Grassy butterscotch nose, grainy, oily mouthfeel, more butterscotch and slight vanilla, cinnamon and baking spice. Medium finish length Compared to an antique 107, and very similar nose and flavor profile but more butterscotch for the pappy 2022 release. Mahogany in color, nose of slight cherry, popcorn, caramel. Palette sweet and smooth. The flavors stick to your tongue, cherry, anise, slight orange candy. More cherry returns and brings some vanilla oak. Finish is long, changes between dry oak and sweet corn. Well balanced but could use a few proof points higher. Definitely different than the 2019 release. -
