My first baiju, so I was quite unprepared for what this experience had in store. The nose was rife of fruity aromas, specifically passion fruit. It was much sweeter than expected, and upon tasting, was met with a surprisingly almost moldy cheesy flavor. I’ll say this, it was a unique experience, and the first sip was great, but subsequent ones were met with consternation. That being said, I’d try it again. I imagine this genre of spirit is one that grows in favorability over time.

Bowmore Vault Edition First Release Atlantic Sea Salt
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed August 22, 2021 (edited March 15, 2022)A lightly peated scotch, with pleasant brine on the opening nose that leads to a sweeter caramel linger. The finish, however, is the most memorable characteristic, rife with sea salt that harkens to the ocean. -
McClelland's Single Malt Highland
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 13, 2021 (edited October 20, 2021)This one has the essence of scotch in its subtlest form. Indeed we are met with light florals and a hint of raisin on the nose suggestive of something more tantalizing on the palate. It’s not great, but it is drinkable if one desires a scotch like drink. -

Modern Gin — Pennsylvannia, USA
Reviewed November 9, 2020 (edited December 29, 2022)While gin seldom comes to my mind as the evening’s drink of preference, I can unequivocally advocate for bluecoat’s inimitable palate per contra to traditional profiles. The citrus elegantly storms the palate upon tasting, weaving between understated notes of juniper, and pepper that lace this drink with an abstraction of lucid sophistication. Truly a marvel. -

Don Julio 1942 Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed February 21, 2020 (edited July 19, 2020)It feels like sacrilege to leave this review, but for such a renown tequila, it fails to precede it’s reputation. Incredibly smooth, that’s indisputable, and yet to the point of fault. The notes are as flavorful as water
