Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 14, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)A beautiful sweet and oaky nose that matches its taste. A lot of oak comes through and the sweet notes continue through the finish. Not TOO oaky, quite sweet, right up my alley. This is a good drink. -
Kentucky Owl 11 Year Rye (Batch #1)
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 14, 2018 (edited January 16, 2018)If you enjoy rye and have said to yourself “Gosh, I’d like to be punched in the mouth with spice” then this is for you. -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 13, 2018 (edited March 25, 2018)$70 off the shelf, couldn’t pass it up. On par with Sazerac overall. Amazing nose of caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter. The mouth hits you with so much spice. It’s really something. Not unpleasant at all, very nice feeling overall. The finish is shorter than I usually like, but doesn’t have any unpleasant flavors anywhere. This is my personal favorite for Rye. The overall taste is like drinking a well-spiced cookie. Smooth, buttery, spices everywhere. If you can find this for $80 or less, it’s worth every penny. -
This is an extraordinarily unique whiskey. It has very complex flavors and a lot of different spices in its flavor. It’s unbelievably creamy and smooth. Almost a velvety texture. Vanilla and cream stand out big time. I wouldn’t buy a bottle of this, but if you get a chance to try this, do it. It’s very interesting.

Glenlivet 18 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 6, 2018 (edited September 1, 2019)What can I say? I love it. Glenlivet 18 is one of those drinks that is just fantastic. The nose is pure vanilla. On the tongue it opens up with this wonderful spice. It hits the vanilla flavors and has a rich and oily mouth feel. An extremely enjoyable 18 year old scotch. Definitely a must-try. -
Macallan Edition No. 2
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 1, 2018 (edited January 7, 2018)It took me a while to review this one. I wanted to really love this. Edition #1 was great. Edition #3 is amazing. There is something with Edition #2 that my palate really hates. If I had to describe it, it’s almost an astringent-type taste. It’s really strong and I cannot get over it. I’ve had drams of this on 3 occasions now. Neat, with some water, with an ice cube... it doesn’t get rid of that sharp unpleasant taste I get from this. 2.75/5
