Clynelish 14 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 27, 2019 (edited October 14, 2019)Hidden gem. Everything you want a scotch to be. Viscous, rich, full, rounded, higher proof, and most importantly... affordable. Damnit. This is my surprise scotch of the year and my new daily drink. -
My god man! The most complex single malt I've had so far, especially bottled at 43%. Tastes much higher. The best peat/sherry marriage I've ever tasted. Let's hope Nick Offerman doesn't leave Lagavulin 16 for this and drive the prices up as well. It's already expensive enough, but much more complex than Lagavulin.

Glenkinchie 12 Year
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed May 10, 2019 (edited October 14, 2019)I'm confused why this isn't rated higher. It's so damn good. This is the closest to being by the sea that I've ever tasted, sans the peated whiskys. It's briny as hell and amazing. Lemon zest and honey mixes in perfectly. Ardbeg 10 is my daily peated, and this is now my new unpeated. -

Balvenie Peat Week 14 Year (2002 Edition)
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed March 29, 2019 (edited April 22, 2019)May be my favorite peated whisky. So much depth and character. If you can find it and enjoy Ardbeg, Lagavulin, or Laphroaig, you will love it.
