Ardbeg Corryvreckan
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed September 17, 2017 (edited August 14, 2019)I love Ardbeg so god damn much. their 10 yr is my everyday drink. oogie is my special occasion and I had very high hopes for this one. It does everything perfectly, except aging in French oak casks. It creates a bitter aftertaste that overwhelms all the nuances of traditional Ardbeg. It's my only complaint but it takes a big hit. Comment and let me know if you feel the same. -
I've heard nothing but amazing things about this and it's back in stock. Talisker is my favorite scotch, so I was excited that its blended within this bottle. It's good. It's not nearly as complex as claimed but it is pretty damn good. Very little bite and smoke. Fruitier than expected. I do like it. It sure is not worth 70$ though. 40$ max.

I have no idea what people are bitching about here. This is fantastic. My first Japanese whisky. Finally found a bottle locally and was weary because of the mixed reviews. Very happy I purchased. Amazing nose and the palate is spicy, rounded, fruity, floral. I love peat bombs so this is a nice change of pace. Like some have said about this, embrace the sublelty.
