High West Bourye (2015 Release)
Blended American Whiskey — Indiana & Kentucky (Bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed August 19, 2015This has been out of stock for a couple of years in Salt Lake, but recently came back....at 80$ a bottle! I liked Son of Bourye well enough but wanted to give this a go. I must say, it ranks right up with my favorite (Rendezvous Rye) from High west. I'm not a huge scotch fan, but this has a perfect blend of a scoth flavor and rye together. I have to say, very surprised. Also, never buying because of the price. -
So..I know that bulleit uses the same stock but man, the two couldn't be more different in my opinion. Dickel is much less sweet, great rye spice. Doesn't linger as long as Bulleit but just tastes more like a real whiskey to me. I just bought this for 20 dollars ...20! Not on sale either. It feels like robbery being this good for that price. I'm ruined.

High West Campfire (Discontinued)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in Utah), Multiple Countries
Reviewed July 27, 2015 (edited August 13, 2015)The first time I tried this I said to the person with me, it tastes exactly like someone soaked the whiskey with a piece of charcoal. Now that may sound off at first and I'm telling you your brain isn't prepared for that first sip. It confuses, excites, intrigues and begs for further sips. You'll be happy you continue. I honestly only break this out when camping. It just works. -
High West Son of Bourye
Other Whiskey — (bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed July 27, 2015 (edited August 20, 2017)High west. Thank you. You don't care what traditional whiskey drinkers think and because of that, I got into the liquid gold. I love their blends and this is such a good mix of spice and some smoky flavor. Bourye has been out of stock until recently so I've been enjoying this gem. Drinking high west makes me think of camping, being by a fire, just all the good things that come with a having a glass of whiskey outdoors. -
Living in salt lake I try to get my hands on anything high west. Although I hold rendezvous rye asy all.time favorite this is unreal, especially for the price: 35$ for 750 ml. Very good spice, a great viscosity in the mouth. If you can't get high west in your area, do it. Or come to Utah for at least something amazingly out of the ordinary here.

Whistlepig 10 Year Small Batch Rye
Rye — (bottled in) Vermont, Canada
Reviewed July 27, 2015 (edited February 24, 2016)I found a couple bottles on vacation in San Diego. Had to pick it up. What a rollercoaster on the tongue. Very mild to begin, then a rush of rye but falls off sharply and finishes with what I can only describe as drinking a hard wood floor. It's a bottle I'm still processing but my initial tasting has been very different than expected being 100% rye. -
High West Rendezvous Rye

Reviewed July 21, 2015 (edited November 20, 2015)Living in Salt Lake City damn do I feel lucky to have this so close to me and always available. This is my all time favorite whiskey. I know people piss and moan about it being sourced but I challenge you to find a better tasting rye.
