Definitely some brighter flavors in this one, apple/pear, charred oak, vanilla and a spicy cinnamon floral finish along with some smokiness midway. A good intro to Japanese whisky

A robust dram IMO in terms of maltiness. There is a shortbread, butterscotch and hay. You can pick up on the bourbon midway through the tasting and the sherry arrives closer towards the end. the peat is very subtle and completes any spice within the dram.

I get heavy floral flavors, hints of heather, some orange and citrus as well as a little toffee and a decent cinnamon spice especially near the finish. very smooth and easy blended malt for a beginner or for a smoother dram.

Batch no. W22-01 The whisky itself is oily and rich, having notes of apple, cinnamon, hay, oak, and slight medicinal herb bitterness. There is a slight iodine, and the peat is relatively intense and lasts throughout the finish. The finish is medium length. Similar peat to laphroaig select or ardbeg 10. I love this whisky. It is in my top 10, and any islay fan should pick this up for a try. it’s price point it’s relatively great for a whisky this peaty and it’s a really interesting American single malt. Hands down the best I’ve had so far.

Nothing too crazy but there is a noticeable sherry note, cinnamon and oak. The finish is relatively smooth especially with ice.

I actually really liked this bourbon, there’s a good amount of cherry sweetness, caramel and oakiness. The finish is a bit long hot and has a little bit of spice but with some water it opens up with more vanilla and brown sugar.

I get apple, thyme, leather, oak and heavy spice.
