Going back to this has practically been a revelation: fruit - almost a Maraschino Cherry flavor - hits first, with a dry, leathery finish. Texture is slightly syrupy. Cinnamon will cling onto palate after the finish, with the briefest hints of Cherry Cola + Orange Zest as this stays with you well after one might reasonably expect.

Huge caramel/toffee on nose, and is the prominent flavor component. Yet certainly not the only one: dried fruit, hints of Barleywine given brown sugar and fig, some light smoke and spice. Fun pour.

Aroma was a bit intimidating though not indicative of the taste. Rye spice is there, only fleetingly until it sits on your palate for a minute. Sweetness is at the front, drinks heavier than most ryes I have had.

The mix of countries for this blend create a huge range of flavor. I always have a soft spot for whiskey which does not land firmly in the same flavor profile - would definitely try this again.

A classic lives up to its reputation. Or maybe i should say "underappreciated classic" - regardless, sweet light fruit (apricot, pear?) are irresistible here, with just enough spice to counter. Unwaveringly rich.

This was a bit disappointing, though I wonder about a bad sample. Trusting the reputation here so not putting too much into one below average experience.

Barley adds very unique component beyond traditional "sherry casks" wheelhouse, will have to keep an eye for this on shelves.

Even if not having the extensive flavors in full bloom as its bigger siblings, the value is difficult to beat here.
