My first dram of 2022. I had a dry January. This was a great way to start my whiskey tastings again.
This is a caramel bomb. Deep, rich brown sugar, caramel, some baking spice on the nose. The taste had more caramel, a touch of rye spice, and a long finish akin to toasted raisin bread. This is one of the most unique rye’s I’ve ever had.
Nose: gingerbread cookie, molasses, alcohol burn
Palate: pine mint tones, sugar sweetness, maple, gingerbread
Finish: longer finish, more pine and spice. Artificial medicinal taste.
Good finished the. Glad I got to try, not something I’m clamoring for. 5 on the t8ke scale
Wow! So much different than any other rye. Was doing a tasting and it turned into drinking! This first bottle is not going last long. Will definitely be keeping this in the collection.
