This is such an interesting bottle!! There is that Heaven Hill nuttiness (toasted almonds) upfront, but on the mid-palate I get huge coconut cream pie and slight milk chocolate vibes. The finish is super refreshing…It surprisingly has this cold menthol/herbal presence. *Definitely has slight hints of cloce and cinnamon* Let’s just call this the Almond Joy of bourbons!
Fairly simple but nice mix of brown sugar/caramel sweetness, oak, and a kind of roasted note (peanut?). What really stands out is the price - fantastic low-key sipper at $20ish.
Darn I like this stuff! All the nuttiness of the regular Evan. But wrapped up in a lot more carmel, cinnamon and sweet, toasted oak. I can recommend this to those who like a nutty flavor profile.
I agree with the expert note about oatmeal raisin on the nose. I get a little orange citrus on the palate. Damn good for the money. May have replaced Elijah Craig Small Batch as best budget buy for me.
